Can I… can I see the cute crystal bug?

I bet ten years ago she was telling people about how VR headsets are about to take off.
Nothing says "man of the people" like reaching nearly 80 years old and never having heard the phrase "corner store" in that time.
I bet you're right. I'm thinking it'll be about a superspy from the mid-2000s who was frozen and reawakened to face his arch-nemesis in 2034. His signature song will be Mr. Brightside.
"Handles repetitive tasks like renaming all your layers!"
Yeah, if I need my layers renamed variations on "MechaHitler" I'll do it myself, thanks.
I know we're already doing it, but someday, the historians, psychologists, sociologists, political scientists, etc. who study right now are going to refer to everyone who supported or enabled Trump as some of the most self-centered, evil, utterly moronic folks this country has ever spawned.
They needed a few hours to scrape our posts to run through their "A.I. Trump Loyalty Determinator."
I remembered it slightly wrong, the website owner himself is sending the people over thinking it would be easier for him to stay in touch with his readers, then soon as they're inside the Facebook building he gets locked out.

There was a webcomic a while back depicting a big building marked "Facebook" and Zuckerberg is luring a guy with a small business to come over and bring his customers with him, and the customers all go into the building but when the business owner tries to go in Zuck has locked the door.
The trade-off of course being our society's ability to instantly generate deep-fake porn.
Drop your crime-fighting Catholics
I imagine they'll be used to house dissidents.
I have a recollection of there being a street gang along those lines in the setting material for the original Cyberpunk TTRPG in the 80s. The gang members would undergo extensive cosmetic modification to appear as physically "perfect" as possible, and disdained those they considered ugly.
The goal is to turn a formerly open society into a massive prison, everyone under constant guard and surveillance, with punishment and cruelty meted out at random to those who lack sufficient connection to the privileged class of torturers and executioners.
One of the tactics a fascist movement that gets into power will use to consolidate and strengthen that power is *arbitrary detention and release.*
They don't deny or even attempt to suppress news of people being randomly arrested for nonsense reasons. They want you to know that you might be next.
It just now occurred to me that you probably don't have to actually shop at Target to be wrongfully arrested for shoplifting at Target.
If there are photos of you online and their "A.I." decides that someone who looks like you has shoplifted at Target, here come the handcuffs.
Reminds me of Kevin Pollak's standup bit about "Bob's Bee-Counting Service"
"Yeah, I counted the bees, there was, uh, eighty million of ’em! Hey, I'm as surprised as you are that it came out to an even number."
If I was on a jury I'd vote to award that woman one hundred billion dollars in damages.
"Charlie Kirk was someone who encouraged everyone to love others," Bulso responded.
I guess "loving others" means phoning in death threats and bomb threats to colleges whose professors aren't far-right fellow goose-steppers.
Wow this goes back to when I started running that game for my own group in the fall of '16
The fly was being a punk.
Nail on the head. Absolutely.
Trump is now claiming, after deleting the post, that he was supposed to be a doctor "doing a Red Cross" and the "fake news" is saying he's depicting himself as Jesus.
His own cultists were popping up in replies almost immediately pleading with him to take it down. Which "fake news" was telling them that he was depicting himself as Christ?
I started imagining a couple guys betting on whether or not a guy at the bar tries to skip out on his tab and then realized that's kind of how credit default swaps work on Wall Street.
oh hey it’s a wacky new cartoon of no particular relevance to anything this morning www.dailykos.com/stories/2026...
I bet the pope's been pardoning convicted fraudsters so that they can go into business with his sons.
