you can do everything right, present compelling arguments for every single decision you've made, and you'll always just be compared to the machine. the machine which is made to confirm its user's biases. your own thought process means nothing if it contradicts the machine.

yeah no I think having dev teams where people trust The Hallucination Machine over their own coworkers is great. I actually love it when people regurgitate a bad summary of some stack overflow pages at me and pretend it's a rock solid argument that their idea is better.

does it help that I'm emulating the wii version (cause I couldn't be bothered to hook up my actual wii) with the world's most fucked up controller mapping (cause I'm using an xbox controller)? no, not in the slightest. but it's still enjoyable, probably cause the game is just that good.
playing through og RE4 and I think I really like the controls. not cause they're good but it's fun to feel that friction. not being able to move and shoot has me feeling like I've never played a game before and it's all the tenser for it.

Incredible how a specific brand of smart people can be this dumb sometimes. You don't hate social commentary - you hate social commentary that doesn't conform to your own, and you're normative enough that you don't have to worry about reminding people you are human.
