On 11 March 1996 I started working in the national youth team at St John Ambulance. Two days later, the lives of 16 young children and their teacher were taken at a school shooting in Dunblane.

Still from Star Trek Voyager episode Threshold depicting two amphibious creatures with catfish barbels in a tropical environment
On 29th January 1996, "Threshold", the Star Trek: Voyager episode where Captain Janeway and Tom Paris turned into giant space newts and had babies first aired. Since it's #ThresholdDay we aim to answer a burning question: did Paris and Janeway fuck? If so, how did they fuck?
Next year the PlayStation 3 will be older than the NES was when the PS3 launched.

Based upon the dirt cheap one I picked up last year I'd say that rust is starting to creep into the bodywork of the oldest ones. They're still great cars and amazing value, mine just needs to spend some time with a MIG welder.
@watsoncomedian.bsky.social Thanks for a great show in Bournemouth. I recently unironically enjoyed the company car documentary and Maestro man was the highlight youtu.be/Dh359S3Eg1U?...
I’ve added a newspaper paywall to the Old Man Yells At Cloud Grandpa Simpson meme. I know it doesn’t make sense for print media.

The perfect form factor existed back in 1997. Psion Series 5 Palm-top computer.
I can recommend a Mk1 Audi TT as an excellent winter hack. Cheap as chips, excellent heated seats and in my experience quite reliable.
Spotted - what a ray of sunshine against this dark autumn evening.
The Honda rose badge would be perfect for anything out of the Swindon factory.
My story about Mazda's Roadster restoration programme in Japan is also online - I *think* I'm the only western journo to cover this one in detail www.hagerty.com/media/automo...
It's definitely going to happen because I've got a car coming up for historic status in 2026. My fault entirely.
If it had been anyone but those two drivers the world would have shrugged and moved on completely.
That one is a bit too close to home for me right now
If I as an adult woman wanted to spend my time doing little role playing scenarios then I would simply do what all of my friends have done and join a DnD group.
Jay Foreman?
This David Bowie / Kate Moss pic from 2003 popped up earlier as part of the promo for the Bowie doc she's presenting and it totally suggests an alternative casting for Tennant/Piper era Doctor Who, complete with a strong hint of a Tardis in the back.
Someone buy this lovely original Ford Puma and save me from doing it. www.facebook.com/share/19svvz... #weirdcarbs
WIRED's The Politics Issue
Big Tech's embrace of President Trump has left many of us wondering: What the hell happened to Silicon Valley?
In our new politics issue, we're getting into it.
Also, we're taking this cover across the US in billboards, posters and a mural. Clues to find us in the 🧵: www.wired.com/politics-iss...
This qualifying session has now lasted longer than every grand prix this year.
The longest race was the Australian Grand Prix at an hour and 42 minutes.
Qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix started an hour and 47 minutes ago.

Holy moly. Paid less than that to stay in the official campsite for the whole weekend in 2023.
You're right - It's TCS in the cases of Co-op and M&S too. I just have a little more understanding with why JLR would have gone with the sister company.
In this case that outsourcing company is Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Kind of understandable given JLR's ownership, but it hasn't ended well.
The closest I can get to imagining how a Reform voter thinks is to imagine how I feel about posh crisps, but then apply it to absolutely everything, and then also act as though I think everyone else should agree with me even though what crisps they eat doesn't affect me personally.
They don't view the people on boats as people.
In some ways, I respect the large bribes. It's much more upsetting when someone has sold their integrity for a pat on the head and a packet of crisps.
No "Take Me Out to the Holosuite"?
I'm talking about increasing return-rates in remote STI testing, so we've probably got enough crossover to blag it.
