For the last bits of stationwork before the game's 1.0 release, I've added new idle animations for NPCs on stations: Reading pads, waving guns around like a moron, standing at attention, etc. Just a bit of flair.

Added pets! They're rare housing decorations you can find around the galaxy. You can place as many of them as you want in a house and pet them, but if you place them in your cockpit they'll confer small bonuses to your ship.

I think the weirdest criticism I ever got for Underspace was that the game didn't have enough content.
Like, no voice acting, not the best graphics, performance issues, limited HOTAS? Fine.
But I have no idea what that player considered to be "a lot of content". Maybe they thought Skyrim was small.
Underspace is on sale for the Steam spring sale, but, more than that, we've still got our opt-in multiplayer branch being updated like crazy. We've now got fully working server browsers and hosting, plus friend invites, and some other stuff I can't remember.

Way back when I first started Underspace my vision was always consistent: A game where you fly out into space with your buddies and get into supernatural cosmic adventures.
Now that's finally a reality: We fought a storm then got trapped in magic space prison and had to escape. I could almost cry.

I redid some of the server options to match the rest of the game's options menu, and added a bunch of new server options for admins to really customize how your experience. It's something I appreciate in games these days.

Prepare to run some blockades: The game's wanted system has received an overhaul! Committing pirate activity when wanted will alert battleships to your position, as it has in the past, but now they're much better about chasing you and also are a hell of a lot stronger.

Underspace's first post-newyears update is now live! Featuring: Sitting in chairs, more mod support, and some other bullshit. The sitting in chairs part is the most important. You couldn't even do that in Morrowind, it's THAT advanced.

A save from two years ago would work with it. In general I don't wipe saves and I try to make sure that even the oldest saves are still compatible with the latest versions. If it isn't, shoot me a bug report and the save in question.

Our next update for #Underspace drops on December 31st, and one of the last things I'm bringing is over 40+ new NPCs to talk to: Small little guys that are there for worldbuilding, backer rewards, and rumormongers. Because not everything has to contribute to the Almighty Gameplay Loop.

Underspace's next big update drops at the end of the year, and part of that involves doing a pass on quests: General improvements and small bits like additional attacks on minibosses, more sound, more Grafics, relit quest interiors, etc.

The latest beta branch update of Underspace now includes its full modding SDK, including documentation! I'm also working on Steam workshop support, and I'm pretty sure some dude is already porting Freelancer's ship's into the game now.

Someone actually did that years ago, but it was hacky and done through Melonloader as a replacement. This system's all proper and natively integrated into the game. It's even got a load order sorter and a thingy that can detect conflicts between mods!
Weep and beg whatever gods you believe in, because Underspace's modding editor and model importing system are all working. See this train? This train right here was made in the game's modding SDK, from tip to tail. We're all going to die.

The game has four million words in terms of readable text. The money it'd take to translate that into even one other language would be around fifteen times the game's current budget.
