I am glad I could contribute to this project, greatly led by Liliia Baikova and Emiliano Mancini, in which we put niche modeling at the service of genetic structuring.
It was very fun and stimulating working on something different from my main field.

SDMs are powerful tools, but only if feed them with the right variables (be biologists, not blind programmers!). We show how data dredging approaches relying on the 19 bioclimatic variables can lead to misleading predictions & interpretation. Led by @giordanomancini.bsky.social

Great time last week at the @scbitaly.bsky.social congress on conservation biology in L'Aquila! A super cool congress with a great field trip to Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park :)
Back to yesterday, when we officially kicked off #ECR2025 here in LβAquila!
President Michela Pacifici and Vice President @lisatedeschi.bsky.social of SCB Italy, together with Michele Lussu from the Secretariat, opened the conference.
Stay tuned! π

In this study, featuring a long list of collaborators from the COST Action ClimBAT, we predict that climate change will reshape European bat communities and functional assemblages π¦π¦π¦ with potential major consequences for ecosystems. @orlyrazgour.bsky.social

Wildlife hates noisy neighbors as much as I do!
Thrilled to announce my first paper, published online in GECCO! We explore how wildlife adjusts its spatio-temporal niche in the short term, to cope with human presence.
Read it here! πhttps://doi.org/10.1016/j.gecco.2024.e03053
