Glasses usually don't do anything for me but for some reason oversized red ones do. Such a specific thing lmao

I just realized I wonder if she has two because during every iteration the mother would teach the daughter and they would spar...

Wonder if Yorda got any training?

A naginata would have been a fun time-attack reward for SotC.

Hmmm mod idea...

A full body, black and white sketch of The Queen, from ICO, lifting a large, curved glaive with one hand, gripped at its center of mass. Much of the pole extends behind her waist, and stops just short of impeding her shadowy cloak.

Arcs of lightning streak around her body. The weapon is tilted at a slight angle, and she looks irritated with the viewer.

鉄の意志は
荒波を乗り切った
だが今は水面は静まり返っている

まるで私の心臓のように

One of my silly head-canons is the ancient Dormin tribe used naginata during their hunts for the colossi and Queen keeping them as decoration is a nod to her history.

Very silly and fan-fic'y and doesn't make too much sense but a cute idea

Behold! the center of the ancient lands! (it's a lot harder to pinpoint without the debug text ;;)

Deciding to have fun and learning how to spot useful memory in RAM.

This was a good trial one cause I can roughly picture where the string should change making it easy to find!

I tried my best to make the Yorda's language text accurate, I used @icoshrine.neocities.org's lovely page on the language as a guide.

ICO - Poor sleep

I'm not the best at drawing but once I got this idea in my head I had to make it.

Mum and I bought some John Dory at the fishmonger today to try.

Genuinely delicious, extremely delicate (taste-wise) fish. Highly recommend for anyone who can get their hands on it.

...being shaped like memory cards. So more of a metaphor by proxy.

Genuinely interested in what you think the other lines mean.

Just came back to this sorry. I'm curious about your interpretation.

You think the dialogue is all an analogy for the PS2/game itself?

The second line
すべては無と有に置き換えられ
石に焼かれた記憶…
has definitely made me think of memory cards and the like but I've assumed that's more a consequence of the save icons

New funniest typo I've found in SOTC

2 weeks ago 4 0 0 0

It would either be that or I'd ask exactly what was the great sin Dormin committed in the past. (Almost definitely killed colossi but would be nice to have confirmation.)

Honestly I think if I had the opportunity to ask Ueda-san one thing about SOTC's story it would be about this line. The rest of Emon's speech I can grasp a vague meaning out of (especially if we take into context potential cut content), but this one line is just completely opaque to me.

The only real idea I have that works maybe if I really squint is it's supposed to be some sort of vague sperm-and-egg metaphor??? Especially since it seems to be part of an in-universe creation myth. Even then I'm guessing using たち to pluralize gametes doesn't make much sense.

2 weeks ago 2 0 1 0

As far as I know, in Japanese it's not especially common to pluralize things, usually you can just infer from context, so the fact the script writer felt the need to make sure its clear that the second 点 is referring to a group is thought provoking.

2 weeks ago 1 0 2 0

Yeah I completely agree, I might be wrong but I feel like 点たち wouldn't make much sense to a native speaker either. Also the specificity of one 点 being individual and the other 点 being pluralized, it's so awfully specific and strange.

その地は…点と点たちが
当たった響きより始まり…

Oh this line will still never make sense to me.
