Even at best the battery is a bit lacking (in part thanks to a chunk being carved out to make space for the mechanism that allows the display to rotate). The RAM and storage could also use an upgrade, but I'll think about that when I get the dang Wifi to work properly

Like, is it as beefy as my X1 Extreme? No, of course not. But it works surprisingly well nonetheless, and it has a more comfortable size to use on the go or in bed or whatever (although it is on the heavy side, especially compared to my X1). Also doesn't get as hot or loud, which is good.

The good news is, outside of the battery being basically toast (I ordered a replacement, but idk how much better that will be), it actually runs fairly well. I've always liked the form factor and the unhinged twisty display hinge that turns it into a thick ass tablet

I didn't foresee that this was gonna be an issue, because I never had problems with Wifi on this thing before. Didn't check if this was already an issue on the initial install, but I suspect it was. Really weird.

Revived the Thinkpad X220 Tablet I bought ages ago, and after replacing a Manjaro install from 2019 with a fresh NixOS install, I am now fighting tooth and nail to get this thing to connect to my Wifi. Confusingly, it has zero issues connecting to a mobile hotspot though

Switching over to Win11 because I need Unity for some work VR stuff and I return to being a hater

That's what I ended up doing, thanks for the advice! Turns out I straight up forgot to port over my clipboard from my old config

Also, I really gotta fix my neovim config. Like, for various reasons, but most pressingly to share its clipboard with my main system again because not being able to copy-paste stuff in and out is obnoxious and I have no idea why it broke to begin with lol

tbh I think like 99% of my remaining problems are just Wayland+nVidia scuff LOL

Made the move to NixOS on my main PC. Not fully yet, I still have Windows in a dual boot, but I'll be slowly move away from that.

I just set up my new Pi Zero to play around with the ePaper display I got for Christmas and I am *very* tempted to slap NixOS on this thing

Put like 20 hours into Vintage Story so far and I'm likeing the experience pretty well, but I'd be elated if my home base was not invaded by weird little freaks every other day.

Was organizing my inventory when like 6 of them spawned right next to me because there is a portal in my entrance now lol

I might have honestly played more Rise this year than Wilds, too. I might be turning into a gaming boomer in real time.

I've probably played more Morrowind than any new release (except gacha) this year.

I did play a decent bit of the new Donkey Kong, I guess?

Kinda wild to me that I haven't really played that many new games this year, at least in terms of big budget games.
There is like Monster Hunter Wilds, Oblivion Remaster, about 5 minutes of EU5 and Uma Musume if you want to count that

Advent of Code but it's all nix

Like, I feel like I'm only one or two horrible coding benders away from actually getting into the groove properly, but I haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet.

If I lose it and start doing project euler stuff in Nix just do me a favor and shoot me though

8 months ago 1 0 1 0

I shouldn't really be doing that currently because I have other things to do rather than stumble head-first into a rabbit hole, but I feel like I'll have to eventually do a proper deep dive into the semantics of Nix to finally make sense of what the fuck any of the patterns I keep seeing actually do

I don't really use my VR headset all that often, but literally anytime I do and I need PC VR it's such a pain in the ass.
It's never just drop in -> do my stuff -> drop out, I always end up having some issue with the Oculus suit that needs to be fixer first before I can even get started...

Always gonna be fucked up to me that youtube only has a live stream filter on channels and not on the home page or that I can't filter searches by accounts that i am subscribed to

Win11 back up and running now. This time on the correct partition. Up next is setting NixOS on the reserved partition and then in my WSL environment (hope I can remember how to do that properly)

Changed a editor property in a script not realizing it'd just be persisted for the whole session, give me the "fell for it again" award

This is partially my fault for having an umlaut in my windows user name despite knowing that that's a bad idea, but it's so funny to me how Quest Link is literally broken every time I haven't used it for a couple weeks
