High tide at #westkirby marine lake wall. It is usually a very sedate walk around the wall, but if the tide is over 9m (or less if the weather is right) the sea will cover the wall. People have to be rescued from the wall at least a couple of times a year.

Hauptkirche St. Katharinen, Hamburg. St Catherine's church on a rather wet and grey day in Germany.
Have you visited Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg?
Thank you.
The Marco Polo Tower in Hamburg. It deserves a black and white treatment!
Two photos from the same spot in Madeira, one slow shutter and one normal. Which do you prefer?
A home with a view. Where would you guess this is?
I've posted a couple of photos from the opposite side of Penha d'Águia in Madeira, so thought for completeness you could have the view from this side too!
This was taken from Miradouro do Boqueirão where there were so many lizards (Madeira wall lizard) it was impossible to count.

I first went 31 years ago!
Have you been before?
That's a bit scary to think it is that long!
I've shared some and will be sharing some more. I think the north coast is always a winner. How long are you visiting for?
Of course, the address is Sítio de São Cristóvão, 9240-044 Boaventura, Portugal. The name of the restaurant is Restaurant São Cristóvão. There's other great locations close by too.
You too! I moved across from the other platform!!
This was a lovely find in Madeira, a cafe with a view like this! Imagine sitting having a beer and looking at the weather change. #madeira
Same location as my last photo (Faial, Madeira) but quite different weather!
If you ever visit you get this view from the side of the Fortress of Faial.
People escape to Madeira for the sunshine, but the rain ands clouds are great for creating atmospheric photography opportunities!
This is Faial just as a very heavy rain shower was passing through.
I did go back a couple of days later in the sunshine - keep an eye out for that image coming soon!
Looks that way!
That seems to be the favourite so far!
Thanks Audrey
2 to 1 so far!
2 to 1 so far!
Which do you thinks works better - with colour or without?
A rainy day in Madeira - provides for a bit of drama in the clouds at least!
We had heavy rain!
I missed the alert on my phone so missed the peak activity!
Missed the alert on my phone so probably missed the peak activity, but the Northern Lights were still showing over the lifeboat station in Hoylake last night when I got there.
A bit of patience (I ran back to the car a few times when the rain was really heavy) paid off in Madeira. A couple of shaft of sunlight illuminated the houses for me to capture.
Parque Natural do Ribeiro Frio, Madeira - conditions weren't great, but at the last minute the sun came out a little and gave me this opportunity I'm pretty pleased with the result - the transition from light to dark across the scene is matched by the car lights from white to red.
Believe it or not, when I first visited Madeira the road that you can just about see on the cliff was still open and we drove under this waterfall. The road is now closed and a much safer tunnel has replaced it.
