basically being super intentional about what to trust and avoid, problem with it is that most people are not at all intentional about how they consume news. the fomo element is a whole other side of it, we have to unlearn a lot first

my path is making a conscious decision about when/where to get news. so avoiding passive algorithmic feeds and actually visiting/browsing homepages, selectively subscribing (everyone has a budget/limit). for others it might include a certain news broadcasting

same, i turned off my auto subscription when that news came out and its expiring this month. not mad about it, been taking in-person classes too and the textbook has its own app. there are so many alternatives

you do not understand the level of hurt I felt (and still am feeling) with the Pocket shutdown. it was my favorite little app in a world of fewer and fewer little apps
