We all start by cloning something into a plasmid. But the vector you choose matters more than you think. A Commentary from the battleground with my colleague & curator of the @sevaplasmids.bsky.social collection, Esteban Martínez enviromicro-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

1/3 Although the issue of releasing GMOs for env bioremediation has been virtually absent of the mainstream scientific literature in Europe/US for >20 yrs, the topic has continued strong in Asia—alas in less fancy/visible journals. Time to revisit the subject in view of new global challenges 💪🏻!

I really respect some journals with long historical high reputation, but now may be fall in Q2 or Q3 group. But during my limited experience, I suffered several times of long review time, delay even no response from editors. These demotivate me to support these journals further

The only words I can say now is "Thanks you Jens for your long-term unconditional supports", and the only wish I have now is "wish we can continue to celebrate our 50th, 70th, ... joint publications"

Such fruitful collaboration plays a determination role in my career development. It helps me to develop critical scientific thinking in my phd phase, scientific leadership in my postdoc phase and finally become an independent group leader taking caring of my own students.

Today is a special day highlighted by the 20th joint publication between Jens (my phd supervisor, close friend, broad-sense family member, ...) and me. From the 1st one in 2016 to now 20th in 2025, I cannot image a better collaboration that a ECR can have.

While evolution is considered to play a role, the questions are what is the selective force and who/what will benefit from this process. I am more concerning it is not "natural evolution" but more "artifical adaptive evolution" that is normally "against the natural process".
