TfL hosted a webinar for 20+ suppliers to align them with their long-term low-carbon vision. Collaboration was key, they co-hosted a “Slide Slam” to share ideas & improve training. Outcomes from their Pledge Project were shared with senior leadership, making climate challenges visible & actionable.
Last year, Transport for London (TfL) was awarded the Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) Catalyst Award for engaging leaders across networks. TfL ran #CarbonLiteracy training across a diverse range of business areas, including internal senior leaders and professionals in the construction sector.
Earlier this month, we were thrilled to present Swinburne University of Technology’s Business School in Melbourne with its Bronze Carbon Literate Educator Award! 🏆🇦🇺
An amazing milestone: 9 national training sessions in Australia, 112 staff and students trained, and more ambitious plans ahead 👏

Through her ‘Train the Trainer’ course, she has supported nearly 100 individuals in overcoming imposter syndrome and stepping into their role as Carbon Literacy trainers. Her approach prioritises confidence, empowering trainers to lead meaningful conversations without needing all the answers.
With representatives from global brands like Beko, B&Q, Openreach, & BT Group to SMEs and individuals joining Emma's open courses, Emma’s training expertise continues to grow. But with that experience came a realisation: the biggest barrier to scaling Carbon Literacy isn’t demand, it’s confidence.
Emma Burlow is tackling one of the biggest challenges in climate education: building the number of confident, capable trainers needed to scale it. Since beginning her #CarbonLiteracy journey in 2022, Emma has helped train nearly 2,000 people across 192 courses through Lighthouse Sustainability.

Georgina Patel was the first independent trainer to be awarded the Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) Catalyst Award in 2025.
Georgina delivered training every day of CLAD week, including to participants from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Parliamentary Forum on Climate Change in Uganda.
These organisations are reshaping how their industries think about sustainability. One celebrates love; one celebrates life.
Both used Carbon Literacy to lead in their fields, helping entire sectors capitalise on the opportunities the green economy has to offer.
