Slightly caramelized onions. Not there yet.
The onions have reached the awkwardness of caramelized adolescence. The Ivysaur to their eventual Venusaur.
A bunch of asparagus, literally and figuratively.
Well well well. Look who showed up fashionably late. Classic asparagus!
A big ol’ pan full of onions
It begins…. Heh heh
My third post about caramelized onions this year, you say? No. *Only* my third. Beware.
I'm about to caramelize some onions and roast some asparagus. No negativity can reach me. I am protected, encircled, enthralled.
Years ago, I wrote a short story in the plural first person about a group of Episcopalians who didn’t like their new priest because he was gay but refused to say so outright.
Anyway, as a cradle Episcopalian, this is my magnum opus on being Catholic lite. Enjoy “The New Priest.”
Weekend plans include running, cooking, reading, hanging out with the nephews, and going to a tulip festival. Spring! Spring!
This a fun fact AND I just remembered I actually played through Sticker Star. Can’t remember anything about it except the giant fan, or was that Origami King?

I’m sorry, but you’ll need to re-up your Communion Wafer Tokens in order to complete the query: “Is the soul everlasting?”

More people should play Promise Mascot Agency. There’s nothing else like it, tonally and narratively, and it manages complexity creep better than almost any game in recent memory.
I don’t think a high schooler should be made to dress up as Shrek. I think that only an adult can make that choice for themselves.

Looking forward to the nephews coming over this weekend. Not *exclusively* because I want to play Mario Wonder multiplayer. But also not insignificantly that.
Thank you! Feeling good ahead of a 10-mile race on the books for early May. Then I'll have to get serious about marathon training. My first is in November!
ICYMI: Here I make the claim that Super Mario RPG is a great running coach and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a race. It makes more sense in context, I promise.
What I love about this video is how it examines the game space not as a place where static meaning happens, but where behaviors are reinforced, but not dictated, by design. Thinking about games is challenging for many reasons, but this is prime among them: How you act is ultimately up to you.

Stats for a 6 mile run. Average heart rate of 156 bpm and average page of 8:19/mile.
Breakdown of the run showing a 10 minute warm up, 5x6 minute intervals at 7:30/mile with one minute rests, and a 5 minute cooldown.
Beautiful day. 50 minutes of sub-threshold intervals. Always good to be outside and in motion.
