DHS Funding Vote Statements

I have looked up EVERY Democrat Senator's statements on DHS funding: only ONE Senate Dem is a YES vote.

John Fetterman.

Here are the statements if you want to read them for yourself.

@shaheen.senate.gov and @hassan.senate.gov of NH have not committed to voting against the DHS funding bill. What's the hold up, Senators? Please grow a spine, do not approve this funding bill, and fight for your constituents against this terror.

Congress cannot fund a Department of Homeland Security that is unapologetically murdering Americans; running a "baby prison" in Texas for the purpose of traumatizing little kids; acting like the law and truth don't exist.

We swore an oath to uphold the law.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

Very upset to see my senators @shaheen.senate.gov and @hassan.senate.gov cave to the GOP and fail to protect ACA. What was the point of the shutdown? What are you fighting for?

Did you all know that immigrant rights groups in NH have a monthly protest in front of the Manchester ICE office on Chestnut St? And they have for years?

Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote, “By retreating from meaningful judicial review exactly where it matters most, the court abandons transgender children and their families to political whims. In sadness, I dissent.”

I think turtle eggs are typically rounder. Lizard eggs can be oblong like this, and so are snake eggs. I hope they hatch and you get a definitive answer!

Scientists have done the research. Federal agencies are mandated to use that research—much of which was taxpayer funded!—to make evidence-based policies.

This is an all-out assault on expertise, and as Dr. Tran notes, it’s all about grift. People talk about Big Pharma but ignore Big Supplement.

RFK Jr. to End 'Godsend' Narcan Program That Helped Reduce Overdose Deaths Despite His Past Heroin Addiction Despite overcoming heroin addiction himself, RFK Jr. is backing plans to cut a critical Narcan program that helped reduce overdose deaths.

There are few things as cost effective as Narcan, especially in a country where (entirely preventable) opioid overdoses have been a leading cause of death for years. For every 6 kits distributed 1 OD is prevented. The $56M in this grant trained >66K people and distributed >282,500 kits in 2024 alone

'We're citizens!': Oklahoma City family traumatized after ICE raids home, but they weren't suspects A woman says her family’s fresh start in Oklahoma turned into a nightmare after federal immigration agents raided their home, taking their phones, laptops, and life savings – even though they were …

Please highlight this story.

ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

University leaders need to understand: they are holding INCREDIBLY good cards.

It is so rare in today's polarized era to have the support of 70+ percent of the public against the Trump admiministration on anything. Universities have that—AND winning legal arguments.

🧪 Tip: You have the right to contest a grant termination, even though NSF says you don't. 🧵

On Friday, NSF terminated 402 grants (per Musk's DOGE).

The notification letters had one of the most egregious violations of fed regulations I've seen so far in these cases:

"not subject to appeal"

UNH, state colleges could lose tens of millions in NH budget cuts The University System of New Hampshire would receive $28.8 million less in state funding per year if NH House Finance Committee budget cuts hold.

We are a “public” system that already gets less than 10% of its funding from the state, and these people want to cut it more. They don’t care about the children of New Hampshire, who deserve a high quality, affordable, and local university system option.

Any institution of higher education that is expelling students, revoking degrees, pursuing legal action against students, handing students over to ICE or refusing to provide them legal support for expressing their right to freedom of speech is carrying out a fascist agenda.

A dog stands on an armchair and looks out the window of a closed door

Passed my comprehensive exams last week, AND my #2025MMM bracket is currently leading in my pool. The beavers are out rebuilding their dam, the red-winged blackbirds are yelling my favorite bird yell. And I'm going to visit dear friends I haven't seen in four years. Things I'm happy about.

Talk about burying the lede..: He was TORTURED. That's your headline.

The headline really sanitizes what they did to this guy. Getting stripped naked, inadequate food, sleep deprivation sounds more like war on terror ear rendition than "interrogation."
