Everything has been thrown into chaos since the second catastrophe and The Medium does not falter to use the Captain as their willing puppet to seek out the source of their true strength — their lost heart, which The Ghost has had this whole time. The group struggles to decide what to prioritize now but Captain Alberich, urged on by his renewed deal, forces the issue of maintaining that the apprehension of The Ghost is still top priority. Vahn, who has been in a coma for two months, awakens with the ambition to do just that, insisting that The Ghost is their responsibility and they’ll settle this once and for all. Before the launch of the final hunt, Raz meets Trigger for the last time to try and get him to come back to him. He reveals that Trigger has a bounty on his head and Raz could help clear this for him if he were to leave with him now, but Trigger rejects him once again, saying he’s no longer interested in running away. The operation is in full motion and Vahn manages to coax The Ghost out of hiding and to the Captain’s chagrin, veers off course once again with the help of the others and flees with The Ghost in Boggmouth’s ship. Being tipped off by the embittered Raz, General Raine deploys her soldiers for Andrew and Trigger’s arrest and Sam’s execution. Shadi defies the order and ends up taking Beetle and Cicero down with Sam while Boggmouth breaks Trigger and Andrew out of the outpost they were sent to. Meanwhile, Vahn questions The Ghost about their connection and it is revealed to them that he is a parallel version of Vahn and their coexistence will lead to each other’s death. He insists that to set things right, The Medium must return home along with their heart. Discovered by Captain Alberich, Vahn fends him off and injures The Medium badly enough to send them looking for their next deal after failing to cash in Trigger’s as a last ditch effort. Upon their defeat, the last leg of the journey begins.

Interstellar has finally revealed some of their ugly intentions, and Vahn seems to be their prime target. After a brutal fight between Erich and the three elite soldiers, Shadi Ahmadi, Beetle and Cicero, Vahn is whisked off unwillingly to the Capital of July, to be a key component to their malicious plans for the fate of June7. Here, Vahn is taken to the science department where they meet the head of the division, Aleksander Yaromir, who not only is Sam’s estranged father but has a curious interest in the occult which has everything to do with the symbols on Vahn’s arms. As Vahn undergoes tests and learns more about themself, Trigger, Boggmouth, Andrew and Sam reconvene after finding a battered Erich who tells them that Vahn has been kidnapped by General Fiachra. The group quickly organizes to go to July and save Vahn from their nefarious plans, emboldened not only for the sake of their friend but also per Sam’s warning that this will pose a greater threat than they realize. Trigger promises to Boggmouth that he can bring Vahn back while she recovers and the group heads off as Sam regales the group of her history with Interstellar and her previous attempt to destroy her father’s research. She confides that she was also an elite soldier and left everything behind, including the one she loved, Shadi, to try and put a stop to what her father had been devoting all his time and energy to for the sake of the Migration Project and its true purpose.
