The trainer and Pokemon designs have so much sauce but the environment design often leaves so much to be desired. Given that the former is the main 'focus' of these games it makes sense that fans dismiss the latter's shortcomings, but I'm still bummed out that Z-A's city looks so basic.

I never liked this critique. It always comes up when someone says "hey I don't like how unbalanced this is" and someone says "well stop using it". It's this weird thing where I'm supposed to engage in it and try and figure out the systems only to find out the systems are simpler than expected.
