The SM64 "backwards long jump" is such a disappointing name once you learn that the Japanese name for this trick is the "ass warp".

And they also call the hyper-speed Wing Cap flight you can get from BLJ-ing "Ass Combat."

You can see two frames of the vertical jumping kick there that got scrapped. Akuma has them unused in his data.

Durring lockdown when my friend kaltezar was living with us to escape the worst of it, our whole flat including my daughter would get together downstairs to watch Samurai Pizza Cats. Its became a sort of tradition that we would occasionally make or order pizza and ice cream and group watch this show. Its simple and silly and the jokes are so out of date. The villians are fun and easy to defeat and the stakes are so low in the hearts of the heroes. It's been a few years since Kalt moved out now doing fine with his new partner in AUZ, but watching samurai pizza cats together will remain one of my favorite memories of an otherwise really stressful time. I believe in making space for levity and joy during hard situations. Levity, joy and sense of safety are a unifying energy we all fight for, and i think people who hold that close are always my favorite heroes. 💙
