Idea for next episode: Do a deep dive on Hunter Campbell and his father’s connection to the UFC, how Hunter got his in with the UFC, what the fighters think of him, and his role in the lawsuits. If he’s ever going to be taking over for Dana, he’s an important individual to follow.

I’m more concerned about Hans and his shitty life.

So when does it become a me problem? Why am I giving a pass to an industry(ies) like this for the benefit of my own entertainment? I wish I had the power to disengage, but the reality is, I won’t. I separate my discomfort from the product and move on.

It reminds me when the captain of the Sharks (Couture) was punched in a bar in Canada for saying he’d support Trump if he could, and I had to remind myself the league is majority white, privileged and probably would vote for the R (see White House bs). Again, all of our favs our problematic.

In general, I hate that they’ll allow their fighters to go on air saying transphobic bullshit. Yet, I suppose I can also acknowledge they’ve done a lot of good for promoting women in the sport in general and Dana White has come out saying the best fight of all time was Schevchenko vs. Weili.

I’ve been on a UFC/MMA kick in general lately and I hate that it feels so problematic to follow the sport considering how close they are with the Trump administration. I hate that I find Dana White to be a charismatic figure, and can’t help but to like some aspects of his personality. #UFC
