Relatedly, this sort of foolish behaviour is exactly why I’ve not mounted a cycling computer to any of my bikes since I stopped racing a few decades ago.

Day 2 update: by adopting an aero tuck - hands in drops; gonads on top tube; shoulders on handlebars; head over front wheel - I reached a lazy 67.4 km/hr (41.9 mph) down Emily Murphy hill.
I think I’ll wait until the gravel is swept off of the streets before trying to top this…
Le sigh.
Right on!
No, but I've installed Campbell Scientific weather stations in Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, Alaska, and Antarctica, largely in support of my research into glacier dynamics and mass balance/water resources.
It couldn't hurt (and might help?) to pour a bottle of fuel injector cleaner into your gas tank with your next fill-up.
This is excellent - thank you very much for the background on this! I'll share it with the CSI folks.
...especially given that ETS's Whyte Ave. on-time statistics are undoubtedly driven by vehicular traffic - rather than pedestrians crossing the street at timed lights.
Thanks, you too!
And yes it is - the little wineglass transom; the tumblehome; the sheer rising just so up to the bow. Sublime!
Good morning!
(Also: that gaff-rigged schooner! 😍😍😍)
Good morning! I *really* need to visit Valencia.
This is very cool - do you happen to have any additional information about the performers and concept?
(As background, I know the folks at Campbell Scientific, the company that manufactured the weather station. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to know more about this.)
Can 100% confirm.
Nice Campbell Scientific station!
I can tell you just by looking at that Texas Electronics rain gauge that this took place in the U.S.

I’ve only had a tiny handful of skeets ever run up any sort of numbers. Each time, my thought was: “Really? THIS one?”
(Those cute little drunkards.)
Bohemian waxwings’ trilling calls always make me smile.
Cateye cycling computer, showing a maximum speed of 58.8 km/hr (36.5 mph).
Update: not bad for riding hands-on-hoods and w/a headwind; 70+ km/hr should be easily achieved.
This being my first fast(ish) descent, I wanted to see how the bike handles before pressing harder. It tracks as if on (titanium) rails, but as turns as sharply as asked. What an amazing machine!
Meh.
This being Alberta, of course we're going with Daylight Savings Time rather than Standard Time.
Can't wait for those 9:50 am winter sunrises!

Haha, I saw this weeks/months/years phrasing used with respect to home renovation projects just last week - seems like memeification is underway.
Accurate!
Titanium Guru Praemio road bicycle, patiently waiting in my office for the ride home.
What a difference ~5 kg (>10 lbs.) of wheel+tire weight makes, with near-instantaneous acceleration and the ability to seemingly float up the Emily Murphy hill to campus.
I can’t wait to bomb down that same hill on my ride home this evening!
Less than 20 minutes ago, I pulled two 350°F cast iron pans out of the oven so I could put a cake in to bake.
