This year has been my year battle testing DaVinci Resolve. It's been great. As a trailer editor - I alway always do a paper script after selects breakdown. Resolve being able to transcribe selects timelines so I can paper edit the first cut - Chef's Kiss*

Solid own goal by Adobe, seen here selling their AI bullshit with unintentional honesty.

Sennheiser 600 series. I like open back phones because they’ve got a more honest sound, flatter, less bass build up, I mostly do trailer/spot work so getting a good read on bass is very important.

At work I cut mostly on Premiere, but at home I've made the switch to DaVinci Resolve and love it! It's a total plus that Fusion is node based. My editing, mixing, and nuke comp skills translate really well into it. Got the finish on two ads 6 hours after downloading it for the first time.

A few weeks ago I started teaching a trailer editing workshop at local colleges. They come in not having used an NLE and leave with a :15 teaser to start their reels. It’s interesting when they see just how outlandish the sound design gets. Next ones in February.
