At least half a vote! It is almost always a binary choice. If you really don't want one candidate to win, then vote for the other one. You don't need to love them!

Not voting is akin to voting for the one you don't want to be elected
I find Vance less scary than DT. He wouldn't have the power to intimidate people. And he's not TOTALLY bonkers. Then when we get a D speaker, impeachment would start heading us in a better direction...
🔥New in IJWF:
Zhao et al. evaluate two common tools for estimating fine dead fuel moisture. The Wiltronics meter performed best at low FMC, while the 10-h fuel stick often underestimated moisture and responded more slowly to environmental change.

And how about the US... Lagging much?
Solar globally skyrocketed 29% in 2025!
Solar up ~600 TWh, the most ever in one year of any generation source, outside of rebound years.
All RE up 8.5%. Now 34% of total power.
Nuclear up 1.2%.
Wind additions rose 40% to record 160 GW in 2025!

One problem with states shouldering certain "responsibilities" rather than fed govt is that poor rural states will always get the short end of the stick, whether you are talking about education, health care, etc. That's a benefit of a federal system that can redirect $$ to red states.

Most developed countries have now submitted the 2026 editions of their formal greenhouse gas emissions inventories to the UNFCCC.
You can check out how their 2026 edition compares to earlier editions on my website: robbieandrew.github.io/country/?cou...
Another example demonstrating that the federal science and research ecosystem is being seriously damaged regardless of what’s ultimately appropriated
The US should be ashamed! No excuse for DT admin policies.
Me too. This has been the R playbook at least since Bush2.
Is that a cake of soap? Don't see any veggies either... not a meal I would serve at home!
Luckily it is only a proposed budget. Last year Congress pretty much tossed most of DTs proposed cuts. Hopefully they will do that again.
While Trump gave tax cuts to billionaires, 70,000 Arizonans have already lost their health insurance this year because of rising costs. I’m working to lower premiums and protect Medicaid so our families can keep their doctors and rural clinics can keep their doors open.
Oh, good grief. ThenIranians open the Strait while US vows to continue blockade. Crazy days...

Data centers are increasingly unpopular, they use enormous amounts of water/electricity and have displaced residents. Maine recently passed the first statewide ban on them, and Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez support legislation to pause them www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...
And who is paying to clean up their mess?
Vermont’s first neighborhood geothermal project just broke ground. Soon, it’ll be heating and cooling a 36-unit development.
Congratulations to Dr Xinyan Huang on receiving the 2025 Outstanding Associate Editor Award from the IJWF.
An Associate Editor since 2021, Dr Huang has made outstanding contributions to wildfire research and rigorous peer review. A well-deserved honour.

At least the 4 lowest-ranked Ds should drop out of the CA governor race, or the fall election could very easily be a face-off between two Rs--in a heavily D state.

Tesla paid $0 in federal income taxes in 2025, despite making $5.7 billion.
This Tax Day, remember that you have paid more in taxes than a multi-billion dollar company—all thanks to corporate tax breaks from Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill.

Heat pumps are the most efficient heating technology ever invented.
They harvest and compress pre existing heat in the air, ground or water and transport it where it is needed.
That energy is all around us.
And it does not have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, the typical American will pay a federal income tax rate of 14.5%
This is what a rigged system looks like.

Republicans are funding Trump’s war in Iran with over 1 trillion dollars in cuts to Medicaid. His stupidity is costing more than 15 million people their healthcare coverage. Let that sink in for a minute.
We deserve better than this.
Vote them all out of office in November! #HealthcareNotTrumpsWar
This bill would give Congress the ability to remove an unfit Peesident. It is in the 25th amendment, but Congress has simply never established the commission that is required to execute it. This bill would do that.
Different process. Congress, while they always could create a body to say a president is unfit under the 25th, never did, so it has to be triggered by the VP.
This is them finally creating a process to do so.
