I love reading code Software solves unique problems. Reading code can be as enticing as a novel. The data flows interacting like characters. Each API, their voice. I enjoy reading code on my phone too. It’s like reading a custom tutorial post. Now I know how to handle GitHub webhooks with Go. Even without syntax highlighting I understand what’s going on.

3D Printing vs Wood CNC Machining For three years I thought Wood CNC Machining and 3D printing were completely different. Like they didn’t scratch the same itch. I was firmly in the anti-plastic camp. Wood seemed cooler. Turns out they’re basically the same thing and 3D printing is just as good. I was up at like 11pm printing my first benchy and it took 30 minutes.

I now get why 3D printing is so cool! I had to experience it in person with stuff I care about! It's like watching a cake get iced.

TIFIIT: /dev/null is ACID compliant Joey@jyu.dev originally posted this. I thought it was interesting and decided to build on it with some super simple bash examples. This is a hilarious example of: "You are technically correct. The best kind of correct." [1] Atomicity Operations are "all or nothing." There are no partial writes, it's either written and then discarded, or not written at all.

Further thoughts on Meditations by Marcus Aurelius Read the first part here: It will be as it needs to be. As Nature requires of it. There’s no wrong way to write. We’re so engrained and trained to see right and wrong (good or bad). Be friends with anyone you meet. Live life intentionally, and focused. Don’t extrapolate. In 1000 years, we’ll be seen as how we view people from 100 AD.

Amazon Prime’s NFL TNF production value is so much better than every other network. They lean into stories, they interview coaches and players throughout the week, and of course the best announcers.

No role is so well suited to philosophy as the one you happen to be in right now.

Bear in mind that everything that exists is already fraying at the edges, and in transition, subject to fragmentation and to rot.

Or that everything was born to die.

Death: something like birth, a natural mystery, elements that split and recombine.

Not an embarrassing thing. Not an offense to reason, or our nature.

A screenshot of a Reddit post from the ProgrammerHumor community. The post shows a meme with text that reads ‘hey grok, why did my wife leave me and I can’t see the kids?’ followed by ‘and this is who they’re asking’. Below is a mathematical equation showing matrix multiplication: a 3x3 matrix multiplied by a 3x3 matrix equals a 3x3 matrix, with variables labeled a₁ through a₉, b₁ through b₉, and c₁ through c₉ respectively. The Reddit mascot appears in the bottom right corner of the image.
