This is specifically about the US comics, not UK reprints ๐
Please join me once again for a trip down hyper-specific memory lane -
Do any UK folk remember buying DC comics in WH Smiths in the 80s/90s (or anytime really)?
I have an inkling they didn't stock them - they did sell Marvel, and Archie for a bit - but I'm all ears if anyone remembers different
Daisy Ridley did one recently where she's an ex-marine window cleaner who has a problem with authority. A (not very good unfortunately) Statham without Statham.
Forgot to post what comics they are, that might help eh
Anyway, do any of you real people know what these stamps are?
Maybe this is the real AGI after all - confidently expounding on stuff you know absolutely jack shit about, just like real people do all the time
It dodged the question and wouldn't link me to anything. Today, it's telling me it made it up. Got it to concede that yes, it's actually worse than useless as a research tool.
Yesterday, the Google AI summary that appears at the top of search results manufactured a 1990s Australian newsstand comics wholesaler out of thin air. Cue lots of backwards and forwards, "Where are you getting this info from", "link me to any web page that mentions this business", etc
I've been listening to this recently - a digital version of a series of cassettes from the 80's that try to thrash out a consistent fanon history of the Cybermen, written by the guy who played the Cyber Leader on the telly. It's good!
Breathtaking new image of the moon from Artemis II.
TV listings on the back of the strip - I think the paper came out on a Friday and had the listings for Saturday/Sunday in it as well. But what was the date??
That Captain Clyde strip is an original, cut out of one of the newspapers it ran in and is much bigger than I remember it being, probably about A4 size?
Digging up buried treasure
"My Former Friends" is a new eight-page comic drawn by @pauljonmilne.bsky.social and written by myself.
You can read it in full below or purchase a high-res .pdf for a price of your choosing at the link (process files available for purchase for $6USD):

Strongly agree. Killing him off off-panel a masterstroke imo. Legit shocking.
Despite all these unmasking covers and this being really the only period that I actually read Spider-Man, it's 2026 and I still have no idea who the Hobgoblin actually was
Good old Charlton, faking their newsstand barcodes as well as their Statement of Ownership numbers
Ah, been looking for one of these for ages
Give me a call, my number is Fo Fo Pu I P Hk
Raytheon's a good laptop brand, right?
If anyone's in the market for a tip top of the range (40 years ago) CRT oscilloscope, you know where to find me
Jacked my job in to go back to the arms dealing. Moving some stuff around in my mum's garage and just found a whole new room of stuff -
What's especially weird about this is they took the time to Photoshop out the 'Next Prog' boxes from I, III and IV for some reason, but left them (and this) in II
Yeah, crazy stuff. I can't imagine anyone is actually biting at those prices but who knows. Rebellion were literally clearing I and IV out for ยฃ5 apiece 18 months ago (I know cos I bought them)
Cool 80's mum Gina Hart
Watch out for (another) 'Continued in Zenith Book 3' flash halfway through Phase II in this latest edition
I don't know obviously but I'm guessing IV will be the same as it's always been - I don't think Rebellion have a ton of production stuff from this era, hence why they scanned the Titan trades for the Complete book
Contrary as always, I was reading some Gruenwald/Neary Captain America comics awhile back thinking 'I really like the inking in this, what a clean line'. Turned out to be Vince Coletta.
