I would also add that at a certain level the language matters much less than understanding the problem space, what technologies you'd use to bring about a solution. At the end of the day every CRUD Rest API solves the same problem. You should be able to explain how to approach it no matter the tech

So to give context. I have done Java for 10-15 years, I've done python for multiple years but never really in a very professional capacity though it finds its way in every job. Go for 5ish years. At this point I don't think i'm amazing at any of them but they are all tools to solve problems.

It's not an uncommon problem. A good interview would be language agnostic. The other question is do you want to code or solve problems? There is a career path that isn't tied to coding. Understand the customer needs, architectural design are all very valuable imo.

It doesn't like a bloated framework. So opinionated framework Luke rails, Django, spring just don't get much traction.

The standard lib is also a lot more powerful than most other languages so the appeal and need of those frameworks isn't as prevalent in go.

It depends how you set it up. I have every test bring up containers and tear down. You can also have shared containers and use transactions to reset. Overall it's not too bad but a mock test will obviously be faster.The big win is that it's a consistent pattern for dev and cicd using the same config

Have you looked at testcontainers they make your life a lot easier. :)

I've been slowly dipping my toes into creating writing. I love fantasy and sci-fi in general, time paradoxes and alternative history.

Especially after binging Buffy and Angel, Anne Rice's dark mind was deliciously seductive and so layered compared to anything else that was on mainstream tv.
