Anyway. The games gets my recommendation. And Im a shark so you should listen to me on all nautical based topics.

The biggest downside is the combat. It's a little janky when boarding another ship. Enemies can slice through your allies to hit you. But you can't. Which can lead to really cheap deaths that can be very frustrating. And combat in general is unforgiving and takes getting used to.

The base building is great. Ship combat great. The feeling of the open sea is great. Starts you out the gate with the ability to make/use fast travel from custom points if sailing back and forth isn't your thing. Reputation system with factions. Missions. Neat art direction. Semi custom boats.

So, #Windrose is in early access and I am usually very hesitant to "review" a game like that.

BUT

I genuinely have not enjoyed or had as much fun with a new game this much in potentially years.

If you want a pirate game its great.

It's a survival game though FYI. Not everyone's mug of grog.
