“Which, now that I say it out, is probably why I lost the election.”

I’ve always felt that one of the great things about being a man is having the freedom to decide how you’re going to live your life - and that one of the best ways to use the social power you’re afforded as a man is to do so, and to create more and better opportunities for others to do so.
The thing about pointing to something perfectly ordinary that plenty of men do and saying “That’s not masculine” or “Men in nature don’t do that” is that there are so many better ways to spend your time than making up rules designed to drain joy from your own life.
Yeah, I thought of this person today while making faces at a baby on the train. And now that I’ve done that, I hope to never think of her again.
A lot of people log in ready to show everyone how angry they are. A lot of those people log in ready to define themselves as good people in contrast to other, worse people. If that’s what you’re here to do, then sometimes you’ve got to work with what you’ve got.
That’s what it arguably is in Canada (where car accidents is a subset of “unintentional injuries”).
Mathematically, something has to be, but there’s simply no good answer to “It should be _____ instead of guns.”
“Guns shouldn’t be the leading cause of death for kids in the States” is indisputable, but the problem with framing it like that, from an advocacy perspective, is thad it begs the question of what should.

“Liberal, yeah. You were going to say liberal?”
I don’t think I’ve left the house since Wednesday, so that’ll be a fun thing to do tomorrow.
I often feel like one of the big reasons there’s so much fighting between liberals and leftists on BlueSky is that there aren’t a lot of right-wingers here, and people like fighting.
The Friendly Giant was a normal-sized man; they just shot him against tiny sets and furniture in order to make him look really big.
More like the “No Skin Zone.”
Alex Jones also appears in two animated Richard Linklater films, and for good measure, I think those segments should get to be redrawn by Stan Kelly.
My hot take on when to arrive at the airport is that I hope everybody has a fun time arguing about it.
Nothing makes me feel like I’ve put in a good day at work like logging into BlueSky in the evening and discovering that everyone’s already several layers deep into a discourse that it’s far too late for me to get in on.
Doug Ford absolutely could not handle being the most scrutinized politician in the country.
They did it. They’ve really finally recreated the experience of trying to enjoy superhero comics. This is the most expensive “[Ish #215 -Ed.]” ever brought to pass
Have you checked the state she was born and raised in?
I’m grateful today for promising next steps at work, grateful for a sense of worth and identity outside of my job, and grateful to know that a host of stressful things will be in the rear-view mirror by the end of the day. #3Gratitudes
What does he think Ford himself has been doing for the past eight years?
Three surefire signs you’re not going to win the argument:
1. You got blocked.
2. The person who blocked you posted an “I blocked this guy for having no sense of boundaries and he followed me to another site” thread.
3. You’re now trying to continue the argument with random people in that thread.
That was definitely strange.
Well, now that he’s been publicly called out for his behaviour, I’m sure the guy in this screenshot will take a deep breath, back off, and - wait, no, looks like he’s now arguing with people in the new thread that’s explicitly about how he specifically should knock it off.
I don’t get why Doug Ford’s taking all the blame for buying a private jet when he’s not even the one who paid for it.
It’s a bold move, continuing to do this in what appears to be a thread about how you, specifically, should stop.
Wow, good for wife.
“You seem to have an extremely fragile ego” is a hell of a thing to say to the woman you followed to another website after she blocked you.
Previous FBI directors never had to deal with these sorts of witch hunts. They were free to simply go on the Sunday morning news programs and promise that they were about to make a bunch of high-profile arrests, which is a totally normal and competent thing to do when you’re in charge of the FBI.
It’s such a shame that the Atlantic story came out just before Patel was about to announce these forthcoming arrests, because the timing makes it look like he’s only doing so to distract from the story.
