That's what happens when you leave the battery in the Wiimote for too long.

Seeing a lot of nostalgia posts, here's my contribution.
In the late 80s or early 90s, there was some promo where you send something off to Hasbro to become a real member of GI Joe. They sent this action figure which was supposed to be you, along with a certificate that had a code name and story.
Lol, pretty sure I had those New Kids trading cards when I was a lad.
I've played through and beaten In Stars and Time, Thirsty Suitors and Slay the Princess.
All are incredible for different reasons, all worth a purchase on whatever device you have access to purchase these games.
Highly recommend each and every one of them.

Double Dragon on NES was one of the first video games I ever owned. Got a few hundred hours between the first and second titles playing NES in my bedroom.
Such great games, he'll be missed.
Feels like the feed is always just full of bad (it does suck right now).
We all need some sunshine through this cloudy time, time to share some good memories.
๐ค๏ธ What was the first video game you remember playing?
Mine is Rad Racer. Went to a friend's place and it was the first time I saw a NES.
Now 40 hours into SMT: Strange Journey Redux and about to take on the final boss.
Such a great game. Can't get attached to any of the demons though because you're required to continuously fuse them into some stronger versions.
But my heart feels a bit of remorse every time, I mean he was my bro...
As you can see in the pic, won't take long for the names to get crazy.
This was my first match.
Dissidia is kinda neat.
It's 3v3, you build up "Brave" by defeating little monsters, and then attack the boss when your gauge is full. First team to beat the boss wins the match.
You can sabotage the other team by attacking them, no shortage of Gacha with character and ability unlocks.
7/10
The controls are clear at least lol.
No better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than reading a free digital magazine full of retrospectives and reviews.
Mage Magazine: thethirstymage.com/2026/03/15/m...
Pokemon, Paranormasight, Power Rangers, and even some articles that don't start with the letter 'P'!
Arcade to PS5, we cover all.

Say what you will about Cobra as an organization, but they clearly have the best exercise regimen in the world.
Look at all these buns of steel.
It's almost the weekend, wouldn't it be great to have a free digital magazine full of retrospectives and reviews to enjoy with your morning coffee?

Absolutely lol, I can count on one hand the number of people that told me they've seen Sidekicks.
My grandma probably only bought it cause it was in some discount bin.
Growing up in Ontario, Chuck Norris was pretty well known.
I think a lot of it is his connection to Bruce Lee, but he had a lot of action flicks in the 70s and 80s.
My grandma had the 1992 movie Sidekicks. I've watched this movie probably 50 times.
Unfortunate his legacy is tied to Trump now
Apparently, I've been underappreciating the quality of Taito games for too long....
Over on our subrreddit, shared this screenshot from the Sega Genesis: Castle of Illusion.
Our subreddit sends out notifications when a new issue is released, and posts about some of the games that missed the cut.

My time line is still filled with too much DLSS discourse.
My coping mechanism is to play more retro games. I mean, look here at Darius Twin, not only is it beautiful, but it's really fun!
Did it review poorly? Apparently
Do I still enjoy it? Absolutely!
That's awesome!
So if someone wanted to get into the franchise, would it be better to track down translated Manga or Anime?
If translated content exists at all. I picked up the game based on it being a TurbGrafx 16 title and had cool box art lol.
My husband & I run @mokkoriplay.bsky.social, a podcast literally dedicated to nothing but City Hunter (we need to record an episode about the game still) & yeah it's very in line with the anime/manga.
Weirder though is that the game uses Toei's live action Metal Heroes as bosses for no real reason.
Any fans of City Hunter in the house?
I enjoyed the game enough on its own, but the source material was new to me.
Lots of Manga, Anime and feature films though, curious what folks thought of those.
Review can be found in this month's issue of Mage Magazine: thethirstymage.com/2026/03/15/m...
I had the most fun when I got a shotgun and was basically just destroying everything and everyone.
Using random things as a shield was pretty fun.
The amount of detail in a game from 1992 is astounding. I need to check out more arcade games from that time period.
Had planned to play some more Secret of Mana last night, but then I accidentally came across Dead Connection and thought to myself, what's this game?
What I'm here to say is that I beat Dead Connection from Taito last night.
What a great game, highly recommend
I'm over on @kotaku.com with a feature on @randallinden.bsky.social and his 30 year journey to make a good version of DOOM on the Super NES.
โ'I had to go back and reverse-engineer my own code from 30 years ago,' Linden laughed. 'I was like, wow, I used to be very smart.'โ

Paige has a bunch of great articles this month including: Steam Next Fest Impressions and a full feature on Dragon Quest VII.
