Agent Mode in @androidstudio.bsky.social Panda 4 is getting a big upgrade: Planning Mode!
Allows you to work with the agent to first create a plan then code. Though if you prefer, use Fast to jump into coding and task completion.

Dear Anthropic can you please fix Code's permissions so they are not so completely broken and annoying? I'd rather not have to use the permissions disabling flag, but... eh
I had some issues running it in LM Studio but with the new update it's running fine. Have some ideas to play around with :)
Super cool launch, congrats! Looking forward to using it in Android Studio :)
Awesome! I always wondered why the IDE only does this when you're not at the end of the line. I can see the cases where it makes sense but IRL I don't know how often I do continue a comment vs not
If you still have proguard-android.txt in your build.gradle.kts you are losing a ton of app performance. Take a peek at your build and pick up the low hanging fruit!

Ok, I'm in: if you build a plugin for JetBrains IDEs, I can review your Gradle build script.
I'll verify if caching works, introduce all those good practices, and even migrate it out of Groovy.
Drop me your GitHub repo, and I'll pick it up next week on the live stream! On me!

Claude Code's new (as of last week) permissions system makes it feel like a needy child who craves attention. Kills the vibe in vibe coding...
(yes, I know there are flags to bypass permissions, but... that's also _too_ much?)
Silly naive me didn't even consider it might sound like fishing for attention 😅 please, no, I don't need it! Go say thanks to people who genuinely help you. It's a small thing that carries a lot, especially if unprompted
That said, thank you. I really appreciate your help with Metalava, too :)
I didn't mean it as if people had to tell me — I was reflecting on how much people appreciate it when I make the effort and explicitly tell them I appreciate their help. And it'd be great if more did, we'd all be more empathetic towards others I reckon.
At the cost of sounding like a silly Internet guru: make an effort to tell people who are helping you that you do appreciate their help. An honest acknowledgement is always appreciated.
I just compared NAT punch-through to the "now kiss" meme, and this may be the pinnacle of my day, time to go to bed

OSS is a sub culture within Square's eng, practiced by a relatively small set of individuals.
These OSS projects are the work product of those individuals. Square as a company never really had a real serious strategy or plan here.
Got so bad last week. Essentially unusable now: either a question every 10s or you pass the magic property to unleash the dragon
