This is the one of the greatest acts of non-violent resistance I have ever seen.

AI produced fake vox pops. Lovely.
Actually I agree, the UK should produce its own energy, and is getting a long way towards that through renewables.
Probably the UK should avoid buses driving on pavements and mowing down pedestrians, though.
Oh, have we hit the “It was all a social experiment!” stage?
The is the federal government telling news stations to provide favorable coverage of the war or their licenses will be pulled.
A truly extraordinary moment.
We aren't on the verge of a totalitarian takeover. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.
Act like it.
I would sail 5000 miles
and I would sail 5000 more
just to be the ship that sailed 10000 miles
to ship to your door
The Notorious S.E.B. @bigseb31213 the fact that we still use the word "drone" to refer to all four of these things has done immense damage to the public understanding of warfare. people really think ships are getting sunk by quadcopters 2:04 PM • Mar 14, 2026 • 253 Views
The term “drone” is infuriatingly non-specific (and I’ve been harping on this topic for over a decade now, like in the piece linked here).
there are still WAY too many people out there in 2026 assuming Predator drones and quadcopters can do the same thing.

"“Back when I had a job I never would’ve had the free time to organize an unruly rabble and march towards the beach house of (Open AI CEO) Sam Altman. But now I’m getting so much more violent retribution accomplished in a day.”"
Anthony's TV
This is the default configuration of Samsung TV. GB News has bought prime spot.
What this meant was that racist chat entered my front room yesterday ("foreign NHS workers can't speak English").at 6.30pm with my six year old listening.
How can Ofcom just sit back and let this happen?
Is it me, or is Apple TV's UX really terrible, either in isolation or compared to its competitors...
Oof. Sympathy. 😢
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
So if you pay $1bn for a Board of Peace membership, and the US provokes attacks on your soil a month or two later, can you get a refund?
There's definitely a problem with the coding practices of app Devs pervading other things.
Their worst case scenario is possibly screwing up a release that needs patching and causes some bitching on forums.
If I really fucked up I might be able to cause a recession.
FYI, Academia.edu has changed its terms of service to give an irrevocable worldwide license for anything uploaded to its site to be used for generative AI. I do not consent to this and have pulled all my papers.
I do think that sometimes there are things that happen in the public eye that just aren't actually good reasons to get all huffy and argumentative. Things where no one benefits from a declaration of total war on behalf of one marginalised community or another.
[me, a journalist who spends all day every day on a social media app where the discovery algorithm is personally controlled by its owner, captain birdseye] you know, a lot of people are talking about fish fingers, we should probably cover that
Not Sara's point here, but if you are someone who sees Daily Tism posts and consistently thinks, "That's nothing to do with autism, everyone is like that," then I have some news for you and your enormous Warhammer collection or elaborate train set.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.
I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

Here is a 20-yr-old article that I have only just seen, from the days when MS was trying to create a good user experience.
All the things that the author (from Microsoft) complains about third party developers doing are things that Microsoft now do themselves

Just read your bio - I had no idea that Dustborn shared a writer with The Longest Journey, back in the day. But that tracks with how much I liked them both :-)❤️
For this post to be about the United States and not Russia shows that there has been an absolute diplomatic revolution.
The Greenland slogan is funny, but the hats definitely made us do a double take at first we thought they were MAGA gear. It actually stands for Make America Go Away.
I have never felt more pro-European.
Trump administration is asking universities for lists of Jews on campus. (Good on Penn for refusing, but it won't be just them that were asked)

Just as importantly, I think, is asking payment processors like Visa and Mastercard why they are still accepting payments for Grok and whatever Elon calls the paid version of X these days
New: Trio of Dem senators urge Apple and Google to enforce their own terms of service and ban X, Grok apps for their flood of nonconsensual sexual imagery.
I've repeatedly asked both Apple and Google about this for three days. They're completely silent, seemingly hoping the question just goes away.
