Just to chime in you can get (large) church halls or the like for around £400 a day. It’s kind of how kpop markets manage to survive because teenagers sure don’t have the budget so their overheads are also low!

I beg to differ I think kup*con was enough to prove a FF fandom will turn up to events and FF14 is only becoming larger in popularity! The amount of people that just turned up to a crystal in King’s Cross says it all ahaha

Actually when I first made it in the studio I couldn’t try it on due to the sheer crunch but I was unhappy with how long it was. So I took apart the trim and shortened it all by like 3-4” lol

Due to no machine and my hand sewing skills being terrible I just finished it with bias binding lmao

I made the collar in like 5mins in the studio so it’s scuffed as hell but here you can see the textures of fabric I used at least. I really wanted it to contrast the sleeves for more interest!

Because it’s a sailor collar but I put a zip at the back I made it fully detachable with poppers

This is as far as I got with 2 days in the sewing studio. The black is interfaced and fully lined and the sleeves are two layers individually gathered (to show depth) so it took me a lot longer than any crunch cosplay so I didn’t finish at all 😮‍💨

How annoying is it that the back of the costume mirrors the front. So I had to draft the black bit like 3x out of my own stupidity lol

Anyway I did my best to math perfectly even scallops but don’t look too closely I didn’t have any paper to draw around so they’re sisters not quintriplets 👀

Getting the fit of the bodice is touch without any pattern paper or a dress form that fits me but after like 5 mock ups I got there lmao (the dress form is like 3x smaller than me…)

I only had enough chiffon for one circle skirt so that’s the level of volume I ended up with 😮‍💨

I’m not sure if people realise but the fabric is two layers! A check kimono fabric and then a seperate organza overlay!

I also lined it in bunny jersey cotton cause it’s so cute and adds comfort for when I dance in the costume!

I don’t know what I want to use this app for yet, so let me try and set some order by showing you what photos I have of my latest Ruby cosplay! I made this in 3 days with hiring a co-working studio in Tokyo for 2 of those days 🫡

Mine is a similar amount and when I think about it across the entire year I'm like lmao what a scam. But I've done it every year and the affect on the mental health was worth the cost 😭
