I’d have been canceling my subscription for sure.
There would have been a huge outcry to #cancelTNG when that episode aired. Did Roddenberry even WATCH an episode of Star Trek before signing up to do this show?
Easier than that. WBD owns the movie and tv rights. But more importantly, they own the merchandising rights. This is about making sure the franchise lives on so they can keep profiting from it.

A stunning lack of continuity between seasons. Does the studio even like the show that they’re making? Clearly they don’t like the audience!
This episode is a great example of how these writers don’t even understand the ethos of Star Trek. You wouldn’t see Burnham consulting some silly crystal for advice!
The Naked Now has some overt sexual references. How is this appropriate? Very sad to see Trek treated this way.
The actors are working with what they are given, but the dialogue is very stilted and sort of old-fashioned. This problems persists throughout the season.

Justice is a very strange episode. A very small-minded vision of the future. This is their supposed “utopia?”
Good for a few laughs, but I mostly just felt bad for Wesley. He’s clearly there as a punching bag for the adults.
