The Tournament by Matthew Reilly is a great historical fiction.

My first priority would be providing sufficient affordable housing.
My second would be security of tenure and much more fair balancing of tenantβs rights with landlords.
If those were in place the rest becomes less urgent and can afford to be more nuanced.
I agree. Iβve been arguing for caps on rental properties for ages. It is a social, moral duty of every person who owns a vacant property to provide housing. It should never have been allowed to be used as an instrument to amass immense wealth. Itβs completely wrong.
Further to this point, I do not believe that a human right as fundamental as access to adequate, secure, and affordable shelter should be commodified for the benefit of a few while others are left to endure insecurity and homelessnessβamounting, in effect, to a denial of that very right.
Unpopular opinion: Landlord-Tenant relationships are inherently oppressive, classist instruments of a feudal system which entrap the lower classes, and ensure their inability to improve their socio-economic status, therefore enriching the already wealthy and further impoverishing the already poor.
I just tried soba noodles for the first time. Healthy as they may be, the taste is not a vibe.
