Okay, but you don't need fresh basil? And Costco sells #10 cans of San Marzano's at that price (it's slightly more now, they were $5 and change a year or two ago I think). Most commercial sauces don't use imported tomatoes, that's not really necessary either (it's just the only kind they stock).

Dozens of pinkish cones of lilac flowers blooming. A chain link fence is visible in front. A tall brick building is behind.

You can't smell the lilacs blooming from your car.

There are a handful of bushes we walk past for school stop off. It's nice to watch spring arrive.

(this is a roundabout way of saying "stop asking the slop bots to put Trump's face on everything, we already all see it too much, you need to go outside and put your phone in a faraday cage for 48 hours")

It annoys me that AI slop, specifically, has ruined the niche of the quick photoshop joke.
Just an utter flood of garbage unleashed by removing the barrier of "spend a couple hours learning how a piece of software works".

You can pickle that!

I wish I could (I've tried but with not a lot of luck) because they're usually made better & for a lot less $ (especially the Costco Orvis nylon pants on sale, or the fleece lined technical ones)... and have real pockets!
Lucky for my partner, they fit him at least when they didn't work for me...

Second recipe for the week up: Creamy baked maple cheesecake, with a maple-graham cracker crust. We ate the last slice two nights ago & I'm so sad (I made salted butterscotch pudding to console myself😆)!
The cheesecake is sweetened only w/ maple syrup, & so velvety soft. Recipe link in comments! 🍽️🍜

If you have a restaurant, there is ZERO reason for you to use AI generated food for your ads.

JUST TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR FOOD.

TBF I'd probably listen to James Marsters read the back of a cereal box or Craigslist ads, but there is some really good character and world building in there too, along with a lot of great writing and enjoyable plots to go along with the voice acting. 😆

The show was HORRIBLE... but also the kinds of late 90's-2000's monster of the week schlock that is a guilty pleasure?
And yeah, there is a lot of cringe (esp Harry describing literally any woman) but some of it seems self-aware and has definitely improved over time... but I love them anyway.

Yeah, I've been working through all the audiobooks (slowly, because there are long holds on most of them at the library) but am almost caught up! I also made my partner watch a couple episodes of the terrible show before watching the rest on my own, lol.

I am definitely not loving this new normal where all spring we are under nightly 🌪️ tornado & flood watches & warnings.

I left a tornado alley region to get away from this already, stop following me! I'd like to enjoy a good thunderstorm without mentally mapping out where the go-bags are, please?

Tbh, all theological considerations aside if you really stop to think about it, JD Vance was a dweeb who started a beef with a hater from Chicago. This strikes me as unwise on a fundamental level.

Mamdani hasn't had time to really think about all that space he now has, because he spends most of his time at City Hall and around New York City. He tries to keep a semblance of his old life by getting around the city on foot, by bike or train.

"If you spend every single day driving around in a tinted window security detail, you will have a very specific view of the city," he said. "You actually meet other New Yorkers and you break out of the bubble that so many have come to expect of politics, where politicians only seem to be spending time with other politicians or the people who donated to make them politicians."

I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.
