Just over 3 hours until Early Birds End! And they are flying out today.

One thing that I cannot understate about my experience attending @ffconf.org is that it really reignited my excitement about programming.
I've always enjoyed it, but some of my energy and motivation has dissipated over time.

Now I have so many things I want to make, I can't decide what to do first!

Second time attending @ffconf.org and enjoyed all the talks, especially "Powerless by Design" by Chetan Padia, "Web Components" by Hannah Clarke, "Six to Sixteen: A Child’s Programming Language," and "The Good Internet" by Sacha Judd.

Sacha Judd's #ffconf talk was one full of nostalgia for me. Fandom was my first online community 💗 and it's such a rich subculture of the internet. Was fab hearing all about @archiveofourown.org and many other incarnations of online fandom spaces being talked about at a web conf! @ffconf.org

It's all systems go behind the scenes. Lanyards grouped (by name) and packed. Food purchased and delivered. Stickers, badges and more being picked up.

Then this evening we meet our speakers and thank them with food, then one sleep to go!

Travel ffor @ffconf.org finally booked. Extremely excited. Who else is heading down for it?

I've been mourning our loss of web events in AoNZ lately (rip Webstock, Gather, Codemania, KiwiFOO et al) and this gets at why. I'm so looking forward to @beyondtellerrand.com and @ffconf.org next month.

Incredibly proud (and happy) to have @krystal.io join us as the scholarship sponsor. This is a huge help to our budget and helps people attend who ordinarily wouldn't be able to.

Go find out more about them - renewable powered UK hosting, right when we need it.

Last night Julie and I attended a special evening at The Duke of York's 115 year birthday evening. Superb viewing of movies from 1800s and then Sherlock Jr with Buster Keaton.

I have a lot of love for this venue as it has served us for 16 years of #FFConf ❣️. Looking forward to being back in Nov.

So excited to be speaking with @rivea0.bsky.social at @ffconf.org on Nov 14th about the skills impact of AI coding tools on us as individuals, on our teams and in our industry.

It would be so lovely to see some of you there!

Also - sorry, *only* just saw this, our ffconf social side is still quiet in the longer months!

(Remy here) - I run it until all eight spots are allocated, HOWEVER! I was just thinking yesterday that maybe an email to everyone who's still on my (very long) maybe list could do with an email that said "it's not closed yet". Appreciate time is reducing! (do you think that email would be useful?)
