I was proud to attend the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria's Gala this weekend. Congratulations to all the students who won scholarships, and to SFA for celebrating its 40th anniversary! I'm so grateful we have such a generous community that is committed to building opportunity for all.

Earlier this week, I enjoyed visiting Francis C. Hammond Middle School for VSP’s Eyes of Hope Mobile Clinic. This program provides eye exams and glasses to public schoolers to help them remain engaged in the classroom, and I’m thankful to VSP for providing this service in our community.

Today, the City of Alexandria hosted their 37th Yom HaShoah Commemoration to remember the Holocaust. I am especially grateful to Dr. Elizabeth "Barry" White for sharing the inspiring story of Dr. Janina Mehlberg. We must never forget.

Alexandria lost a giant this weekend, former Del. Marian Van Landingham. She was the founder of the Torpedo Factory, the first woman to chair the VA House's Privileges & Elections Committee, and its most senior woman when she retired in 2005. I am so grateful for her service and to have known her.

On Saturday, it was great to see so many community members out in support of democracy and against authoritarianism for #NoKingsDay3! Moments like these remind us that people power is real, and we'll show it once again on April 21 when we vote to level the playing field. Thank you to all who joined!

Proud that my first bill of 2026 has passed both chambers and now lands on @abigailspanberger.com’s desk. My SB38 & @ebpforva.bsky.social’s HB93 protect survivors of domestic violence by ensuring firearms are legally transferred and removed from the home.
