I am privileged enough to have a perfectly fine (albeit small) "home office". I can count on one hand, I think, the days I have sat in there after Covid. I still work at home now and then, but at the dining table. Can't bear the view and the feel of that room.
Cooper Flagg er en av to ledende kandidater til å vinne Rookie of the year i NBA. Han leder i de fleste statistiske kategoriene, men Kon Knueppel har strålende offensive stats og har bidratt til et vesentlig bedre lag. Cue @jonlien.bsky.social for #Flaggdebatt. Dette kan bli heftig!
Ten times this! And a lot of misery followed from shitloads of people assuming "we had it worst". It was not a competition! If you were myopic enough not to be able to see people around you having a worse or equally bad time, you are probably too narcissistic to be worth having around.
Sorry to be overly sincere for a second, but here's why we decided to persevere through all of the bullshit and take over InfoWars.
There's just gotta be a line somewhere.
Thank you @pablo.show for letting me talk so openly about this.
They did not expect the leopards to eat just those faces.
Du har fått en og annen kommentar på bildet på FB også, fra folk du vanligvis vil regne som relativt oppegående. Uten forkleinelse for teksten, så kan det kanskje hende at illustrasjonen ikke er optimal?
Aleneforeldre FTW!
I'm happy to announce something I have been so, so eager to share for a long time: "Leo Woodall has been cast as Halvard in ‘THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM’". It will be a tall order for Leo, but I believe he might just have it in him to bring the complexity of Halvard to the big screen.

Should be part of his next test.
The earliest one listed is "Pius XII and the Holocaust."
Mind you, for a thousand years, Popes were actual political rulers, and for much of that time they were involved in the selection or deposing of some of the most powerful crowned heads of Europe. Then for sixty years...

Logistics is the Mommy function in the armed forces, and that's why the bulk of the NatSec community ignores it, because Logistics imposes rules and limits.
I feel like someone with far more moral authority than me needs to say this, over and over: Trump entrusted the fate of the country, the world economy, and thousands of service members, to his wildly conflicted son-in-law and developer buddy, who reportedly didn't know fuckall that they were hearing
this is truly an abomination. I guess they were not satisfied with how thoroughly they have been betraying the lessons of the Holocaust.
Screenshot of post from President Zelenskyy's official Twitter/X account on 28 March 2026. He reveals Russian satellites imaged key US and allied bases in the Middle East from March 24-26 2026, with the aim of aiding Iranian strikes. He criticises recent US decisions to temporarily lift sanctions on Russian oil exports, arguing it funds an aggressor providing intelligence that endangers American and partner assets.

People should be thinking about this war as downstream of all the generals and admirals fired shortly after the inauguration. Anyone who would be likely to identify risks has either already been fired or got the message.
The OP had a reference to a naive Norwegian. And having driven for hours and hours in the US, I fully understand why it would make one chuckle. I just think the naïvitè comes from lack of comprehension of the vastness of the US, rather than from coming from a "tiny" place.
Don't get me wrong. The Norwegian population is small and the area is middle-size. But it is still not a "tiny" place. And distance is not only measured in km. Try to compare drive-times for the two routes. In Norway we generally don't do "flat" and "straight" for our roads.
Admittedly much, much smaller than the US. But "tiny"? This is for instance a significantly longer drive than Minneapolis to New Orleans, just to scale it.
The thread started in Hormuz, but someone (me) took it towards the demise of naval hegemony more generally. My argument was not about pirates or privateers in that specific area. Fwiw, ransom at sea was a well established privateering practice, which would be relatively easy to revive.
There is also the non-trivial possibility that the former hegemon is the issuer of the letter of marque Paul Musgrave, privateer, carries.
If the hegmeon has abdicated, who would do the intercepting on behalf of a Panama-registered tanker? I really don't think Paul Musgrave, privateer, would aim for tankers, though. Other cargoes would be easier to dispose of.
Why, assuming that the hegemon has abdicated, wouldn't he?
Paul Musgrave, privateer, has a legitimate and well organised system for making a profit from goods captured at sea. Paul Musgrave, pirate, not so.
Amen. I only remember HP shouting a lot in capital letters. I had kids in the target group when the movies came, but I honestly can't remember much beyond the third movie.
It is not the most important thing here, but Book 5 is objectively a bad piece of prose. It is usually never a good thing when an "artist" becomes too important to have to at least listen to editorial interference.
