Ella asleep on the nestscrape at dawn this morning - it was a very long night for her.
Pandemic on an early morning shift keep the egg covered until surrounding air temps warmed up a bit. You can see the size difference here between Ella & Pandemic
Our first egg of the 2026 nesting season at the Radisson.
Radisson - thank you Mother Nature, your timing was spectacular. After 2 excruciating weeks of bowing & scraping on the east nestledge, snow & freezing rain drove Ella & Pandemic back to the nestbox & as of 0417h this morning we have our first egg, nice & safe & dry.

Gabriel Vilardi playing in his 200th game in a Jets jersey. PLD played 195 in a Winnipeg uniform.
Comparing them at 195:
Vilardi: 78G 83A 161 points
Dubois: 63G 80A 143 points
Toss in Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari & the 2nd rounder which became Alfons Freij.
Good trade.

Call it serendipity. Took a break from the #ForeverCanadian campaign and went on a walk. These two fellows greeted me, as if to say “Go Canada!”. 🇨🇦

In front of a red theatre curtain, we see a big wooden TV console circa the late 1960s or early 1970s, framing footage of the Artemis capsule in the water.
I attended an Edmonton Frimge event tonight, where they showed video of the Artemis splash down set inside the frame of a 1960s television console and it was so perfect.

This kindness and support are just two of the MANY reasons why we are such fans of @guygavrielkay.bsky.social as an individual. That he just happens to be a brilliant writer has meant we've had the privilege of reading and celebrating his work for years. We wouldn't have it any other way. 💚

So, @mcnallyrobinson.com in Winnipeg are one of my true ‘home bookstores’ and they now offer free shipping anywhere in Canada for orders of $50 and up. I just placed another order and thought I’d alert others they can do this. They’re great. I sign there with every book release.
Happy reading.

April 9th marks the 109th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. This occasion serves as an opportunity to reflect on our development as a nation and the sacrifices made by our troops which afford us the prosperity and security that we possess as a result.

"Once more, let me remind you what fascism is. I need not wear a brown shirt or a green shirt.
Fascism begins the moment a ruling class, fearing the people may use their political democracy to gain economic democracy, begins to destroy political democracy in order to retain its power of exploitation and special privilege."

ANALYSIS | If a court halts separatists' referendum bid, they'll push Danielle Smith to approve it anyway | CBC News
A First Nation's injunction request, to be heard April 7, claims the independence petition drive threatens treaty rights.
Separatists have an understanding with the UCP.
If they lose in Court to First Nations, premier will quarterback separatists, override Court decision again, and give them a referendum.
Yet premier refuses a Legislature vote on #ForeverCanadian petition.
