On the run for fun!
This past weekend, the Highland Lakes School Girls on the Run club took part in a 5K run in downtown Phoenix with more than 6,000 runners.
Within DVUSD, three schools proudly offer this program: Highland Lakes, Sierra Verde STEAM Academy, and Constitution Elementary School.
DVUSD is grateful for all of our administrative professionals at our school and district offices for the incredible work they do every day.

Helping with hoops: The Deer Valley Skyhawks super team of students and staff defeated the Glendale Police Department 53-30 this afternoon in a charity game to help raise funds for The Special Olympics.
On hand to award the trophy was chief Colby Brandt, and councilmember Lauren Tolmachoff.
...while the Mountain Ridge High School teams (photos 2 & 3) won a gold medal in the Urban Search and Rescue contest, and for the second-consecutive year won gold in the Additive Manufacturing contest.

Congratulations to a couple of DVUSD Career & Technical Education programs that recently excelled at the state SkillsUSA Leadership & Skills Conference.
The Boulder Creek High School engineering team (photo 1) took 2nd place in the state competition...
Sierra Verde ranked 1st in Arizona out of ALL schools, with 14,215 words. Fifth graders earned 12,638 of those words, and Mrs. Orr was named Top Teacher in Arizona for the Middle School/Elementary category!
This is the 5th win out of the last 6 competitions in the past 3 years.
How many words can you come up with for "winning?" Apply those synonyms to Mrs. Orr's classes at Sierra Verde STEAM Academy as the Vipers once again took the crown at the Spring 2026 Vocabulary Bowl!
