An on-again, off-again ceasefire at the same time as a blockade, makes perfect sense if you see it for what it is:

Caveat: I have a post-COVID palate, so YMMV.

Something I've been meaning to try and finally did: butter flavored cooking spray on popcorn. It's actually convincing on popcorn, though I wouldn't use it for anything else.

It's definitely cheaper than real butter and is "good" fat instead of "bad." Easier to distribute evenly, too.

It wasn't quite that it was embarrassment comedy. He was at real risk. He wasn't just embarrassed; he was TERRIFIED.

Ultimately I couldn't stand it. But if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, as far as I got into it it was done VERY well, so you might enjoy it a lot.

I bounced hard off the first episode of Ludwig. NOT, I hasten to add, because it wasn't good. In fact it was because David Mitchell so richly portrayed the terror and mortification of the title character that my empathy overwhelmed my humor. I couldn't laugh AT him because I felt FOR him.

It’s like… If you don’t already understand that these people are straight-up supervillains when they say shit like this, I don’t know how to begin to explain it to you

Mary Morgan is the type of person that thinks every man who is a stepdad, adopts a child, or fosters a child is a sexual predator. This is some Gendernormative TERF/Fascist Tradwife bullshit, because it implies that only women can raise children and that Men don't have the empathy to raise children.

if Ds control congress, they could pass a bill to send people checks, funded by taxing billionaires. let trump veto it if he wants.

include a provision in the bill that trump's name can't be on the checks.

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

What most of the world and the USA would like to do to the Republican Party, starting with the head tiny mushroom himself.

Well, the damage is permanent, so I'm not surprised.

Unless you me ean you never quite recovered psychologically...oh wait, that damage is permanent too.

Someday some of these coaches are going to be shocked when a former student shows up at their house and puts two bullets in them.

They did know, or should have known, that they were being abusive. They also knew that no one would stop them, and THOUGHT they knew they'd get away with it.

Also, being coaches, they knew or should have known they were going too far. Prison is the LEAST they deserve.

It's just assumed, and widely accepted, that certain jobs attract brutal dipshits who get off on hurting people. When things stay the same for generation after generation, you gotta assume that we like it that way.

Specifically an EVIL cult. One that proclaims that anyone opposing their leader is opposing God. This must be opposed with all our hearts, and all our minds, and all our wills.

I unironically believe this. If you're in charge of deciding what is THE LAW, and you hold that position for life, you should have to give up all of other pursuits and dedicate yourself fully to doing nothing but that, without anything else to distract you or influence you.

We have to oppose this people with everything we have. We're going to have burning times again if we don't.

There are many reasons I believe in the separation of Church and State and "you can't disagree with the head of state, that's against theology" is probably the most prominent "absolutely not" scenario.

I was just looking at @jonesnori.bsky.social's earring collection, and we figured out why we like the ones made by @lionesselise.bsky.social so much. Many earrings are finely crafted, but each one of Elise's is a tiny little work of art. So beautifully designed with a real sense of color and shape.

I liked it when the guy says "You'll get my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hand" and the roach says "Your conditions are acceptable."

I've never heard Hegseth say ANYTHING funny. He's LESS LIKEABLE than a roach wearing human skin.

Still, "roach-in-human-skin Pete Hegseth" is pretty good.

Not being a Christian, I'm usually reluctant to call anyone a "fake Christian."

Pete Hegseth is a fake Christian.
