i mean the real takeaway is that the city’s personnel is too top heavy. this is true across a lot of departments… fire, police, but also things like CA and individual offices that just have one person. the budget would get much further on not having such a high ratio of upper-middle managers
i’m all for the city having a position to integrate queer equity, but do they really need to be paid $220k? (yes i can read a budget, i know this is after fringe etc)
slashing the debt service contingency and reserves? in this economy???
did the mayor forget to write the background on the shelter program?? or is this just the 30 mil he is taking from the county
PCEF should not be funding PEMO. this is not what it’s for.
well definitely don’t cut unarmed public safety. why is there a ~$3 million increase for high paid middle managers at ACA in a fiscal crisis?
imo a challenge you are going to run into is that is that corking is typically illegal in much of the US.
there is a brief overview on page 5 of this - www.shift2bikes.org/docs/ride-le...
the best overall corking guide that i'm aware of (protest focused) is - corkthestreets.com/Home

"guess we're doing X now" meme but it's IKEA and Poland and making landmines instead of furnitures
@transarchivist.bsky.social do you know about that time some undetonated landmines accidentally got shipped to IKEA in Poland

tbf i am transit dependent, but the most i’ve noticed it being closed is the detour sign by the burnside bridge
the broadway bridge is closed?
i think they just switched the tableaus - this one has been active for at least the past 2 years! measles is a new-ish addition. they do skip weeks on occasion (for covid, which i check the most) but i talked to someone at OHA who said that’s due to city water bureaus not sending data

is there anything sweeter than a sharply worded email implying you’re prepared to pursue private right of action, followed by a “Kind regards,” signoff?

incredible that his twilight years grand opus somehow has a ftm trans protagonist
i distinctly recall regurgitating a complaint about “the liberal media” at the dinner table when i was 11 and my parents being like “WHAT are you reading??” (Weber’s early Honor Harrington books, which i still enjoy for what they are!)
