Small update: I'd assumed the thinner paper was a switch to the paper used in Mythogoria books since that has always been thinner than Mythographic paper, but as soon as I put marker to this paper, I realized it bleeds much more than these markers do in Mythogoria. Disappointing.
I got the new Mythographic Fairy Folklore coloring book and I'm so disappointed in the change in paper quality from earlier entries in the series. The art is everything I hoped it would be, but I'll be waiting to pick up future entries from Ollie's/Book Outlet if this is the paper quality now.
The cats learned to be a little bit spooky all year from me. We still can't put away the spider toys from Halloween because they're carried around and played with almost daily.
What I Read in March
Looking back at my reading stats for March, I can tell I wasn't feeling like myself. I started having problems back in February, but March was just one thing after another. Fortunately, I seem to be on the mend and there is plenty of time to make up a couple books this year.…
I hurt my wrist. I've gotten pretty good at avoiding these injuries while writing, but apparently I should have been more vigilant while coloring.
Good news: I'm being sent a replacement!
Still slightly sad I have to wait again for my little treat
I could cry. A pre-ordered coloring book arrived today. I was excited. I'd counted on this book as a little treat after feeling crappy for the past couple weeks.
It's damaged. The front cover and several interior pages are torn and cut through the image and several more pages are creased.
What I Read in February
I can't believe February is already over. This year is flying by. Looking back, I can see I'm reading at least a few pages every day, but it certainly feels like I ran out of time to finish reading a significant number of books. As of today, I'm a bit behind on my reading…
Being anxious more often than not has taught me it comes in two general varieties.
The first pushes me with an often vague sense of urgency and can lead to more creative output.
The second locks me up. Introspection becomes a minefield. Writing grinds to a halt.
Guess which is dominating 2026?
Library requests really help, friends! Even if you borrow books and return them without reading them, you're helping authors and libraries!
🚨NATIONWIDE BOOK BAN ALERT
Whenever the administration takes a loss (like in the supreme court for tariffs) they go for low hanging fruit and book banning is a favorite.
Call and Email your Congressman to keep their hands off school and library funding.

Sat down feeling determined and motivated to get some quality writing time in today.
It took about five minutes for shooting pain in my sinuses to derail those plans.
I will still try to get some writing done, but my focus is fragmented.

Smokey's lab work came back all negative so we're now in the clear to begin the long, slow process of cat introductions
