So if you could only pick one Total War game to try these days (that isn't the Warhammer ones), which would it be?

How Fast Can You Deal 69 Damage In Every Final Fantasy, a question that is surely worth the inordinate amount of time invested into answering it.
SECOND CHANNEL IDIOT SHIT WOOO.

The RE9 fomo has me finally starting up RE2 Remake which has been sitting in my Steam library for too long now. Pretty good!
Really proud of everyone for NOT arguing about this 😄
I took a few minutes to edit some of my interview (read: overly long ramblings) with @duncanfyfe.net into a separate post, covering my general opinion of what lore is and what studying lore should mean.

For @remapradio.bsky.social, I wrote about the worldbuilding business, and the apparently irreconcilable lore of Bethesda's ELDER SCROLLS games. This is about people who love lore, people who make it, people who break it, and those who do all three.

The answer to your question is: No, @orionleigh.bsky.social and I don't stop. Another little glimpse into our queer history archive side quest, but more importantly a highlight into some of the champions digging deep into this work! 💐
Was playing Soulframe the other day and triggered a cutscene that hadn't been implemented yet. Instead they just showed some pre-viz storyboards, and I actually thought that was pretty neat.
I will be reading it in Anthony Bourdain's voice
Binti: The Complete Trilogy, by Nnedi Okorafor
This series of novellas had some really neat sci-fi ideas that'll stick with me. The tone was a little all over the place and I struggled with some of the pacing and characterization. I need to read more sci-fi with sentient spaceships.
Careless People, by Sarah Wynn-Williams
A memoir of the author's time working at Facebook as they made more efforts to influence international regulators. Just more confirmation that the people running our lives are indifferent and incompetent.
To understand what's happening in Iran today, you have to know about the history of Western intervention in the country.
In the early 1900s, the British secured oil rights in the country until 1993, where they only agreed to pay Iran 16% of the total profits.
This was seen as an unfair deal. 🧵
😭
Got a cold in early January, cough lasted over a month, got *another* cold last week, fully expect to be coughing for another month
Tonight I'm streaming retail World of Warcraft. Figured it's time to see what this game is all about. Come see how a Warrior of Light fares in Azeroth?
The Jade Setter of Janloon, by Fonda Lee
This novella was a nice return to the setting of the Green Bone Saga. The story is small but touches on a lot of the major themes of the original trilogy. The protagonist starts out exasperating but grows up a lot by the end.
The Shadow Rising, by Robert Jordon
Somehow we went from the worst book in the Wheel of Time (so far) straight in to the best book in the Wheel of Time (so far). A true chonker at 900+ pages, but the pacing was good and the plots resolved satisfyingly while setting up what's next
Another shot from my Mirror’s Edge-inspired scene.
I’ve updated the lighting and post-process to bring back a cooler blue tone while still maintaining the impression of bright sunlight.
Just had to install the Adobe Flash Player in order to play a Total War game. Not sure what year i'm in now.
Wow.
Only a few hours in so far, but Pillars of Eternity II is one of the strongest examples I've encountered of a sequel fixing up issues from the prior entry. Everything from audio, to conversations, to scripted sequences, to the turn based combat, it just feels *nicer* than PoE1.
"Straightening, he knuckled his long white mustaches grandly."
.....what does it mean to knuckle your mustache?
A Psalm for the Wild-Built, by Becky Chambers
I needed something uplifting after Demon Copperhead, and this is one of my favorite novellas. Deeply hopeful about the future while still acknowledging the difficulties we'll always face in our day-to-day. I love these characters.
I should pick a visual novel for my neighborhood book club to read.
Yes, Gretchen, it's anime, get over it.
Ok that Tyson/MAHA commercial was violently disgusting. Oh I hate it here
It's a mess, and I nearly dropped it at one point when a few episodes were just "stuff happens" with no coherence. I wish I'd just waited for it all to be out so I could binge it, and that's likely what I'll do for S3 unless I hear it's a massive improvement.
