🚨 Your calls are needed! Contact your federal Rep(s) to let them know you oppose this unconstitutional bill. My WY Rep is a co-sponsor, and I let her know that WY people don’t want the government to tell us what to read. Please reach out ASAP and spread the word! #fReadom #freepeoplereadfreely

I had a great conversation with Tom for the Book Flood podcast this week! It’s always a joy to talk libraries and take a minute to remember what makes the job of school librarianship so special.
Thanks for having me on!

Thank you!
Text overlayed on a picture of books on shelves reads: WLA wants to thank you for supporting libraries, local control, and intellectual freedom in Wyoming!
This is what community looks like! Wyoming’s Book Banning Bill, HB10, FAILED to advance tonight after not being introduced by the deadline. I am so relieved and grateful. I hope this victory can give others a little hope in difficult times. We fight on, together. #fReadom
This is such an important statement against #censorship by author Shannon Hale. #tlsky #edusky #fReadom
A shadow of a person holding ski poles stretches across a sunny field of snow
I was so happy to get out for a xc ski yesterday after school. Fresh air to clear my mind & sunshine to keep me moving!
Haha! I’m pretty immune to their strange looks at this point in the year...
My coworker knew exactly what I needed for Valentine’s Day…can’t wait to unleash the screaming goat in our library today! 😆 #skybrarians #tlsky
I enjoyed this conversation with my friends at the Wyoming State Library. Always happy to talk about the important role #schoollibrarians play in our education ecosystem. ❤️📚

We’re gearing up for a challenging legislative session here in WY. Looking forward to this event!
Loving the diversity of voices as we watch The Grammys tonight.
An American flag waves behind a sign that reads: “Libertad, no more babies behind bars. Defund ICE, close the camps, prosecute ICE”
Two patriots wearing inflatable frog costumes with signs that read “no ICE” and “be good.”
Another weekend, another protest. Friends & neighbors in Jackson, WY came out in opposition to ICE & in support of all those suffering from their lawless & violent actions. #goodtrouble #speakup #peacefulprotest #iceout
Excited to participate in the screening of #TheLibrarians in our small Wyoming community- honored to be on the panel to help facilitate conversation about #freadom in our state. WY’s HB10 is a threat to all libraries and their patrons- we must push back against erasure & censorship. #skybrarians
Protecting students’ privacy, giving them a safe place to process what’s happening, & providing reliable information & resources- action items for all educators & librarians in this chaotic & dangerous time. #tlsky #edusky #skybrarians
My 5⭐️ reads from 2025!
Reading is not a competition, it’s about community, and feeling your way from one narrative to the next. Read for yourself in 2026!
We should all enjoy the freedom to read and inquire as we please. Stand up for #fREADom this year. ❤️ 📚
Update on this saga- now my inboxes are a complete mess, and I feel like I’m being punished by the company for wanting a tiny bit of privacy. SSO is so ubiquitous- untangling from the all powerful G is likely impossible. Is it too much to want good #tech AND #privacy?
I chose option -B- yesterday & it felt so LUXURIOUS to sit & read 2 books, cover to cover. Loved “First State of Being” by Erin Entrada Kelly (deftly drawn characters- really came together for me), & “Xolo” by Donna Barba Higuera was a visual & storytelling treat! #kidlit #booksky #edusky #TLsky
I always wish I could clone myself- productive me and sloth me! Good luck with the decisions…I’m partial to “B”!
Not. Okay. We all need to be watching and standing up for book access and freedom to read, no matter where you live. The consequences of terrible legislation are so far-reaching, and are being effectively copy-pasted in other states. #booksky #freadom
The end of a school year is a great time for a swap!
We’re in a tough to reach spot, but I’m going to do some looking.
Thanks so much- I will definitely check them out. I’m trying to decide out how to run our book fair this spring, and am not feeling excited about Scholastic for lots of reasons. 🫤
That’s great! Do they have any Spanish language materials? We are a DLI school, so I’m always scouting. Sadly, Lectorum is closing so one of our big vendors will no longer be an option.
That looks like an amazing event! Where are the books coming from?
Would love hear from all of our #skybrarians… how are you helping students build their home libraries? #bookaccess #tlsky
Oh no!! That’s the worst. Christmas will have to come early this year!
I really enjoyed this conversation, and hope it will be helpful to others! Thanks to @drtlovesbooks.bsky.social for being such a great connector of school librarians!
A wrapped book with a sticker that reads: Reading is a gift, La lectura es un regalo, MMES Winter Book Giveaway, Sorteo de libros de invierno de MMES
Several piles of books, wrapped in colorful holiday themed paper.
We are gearing up for our school library’s 4th annual winter book giveaway! We’re collecting donations of books for kids (0-11) & students can choose books to wrap and give as gifts during the winter holiday season, or to keep for themselves. #bookjoy #bookaccessforall #tlsky #edusky #skybrarians

Took a walk around the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park today. Still noticeable effects from last year’s hurricanes. Enjoying the Florida warmth this vacation week. ☀️
