I worked in hospitality for decades, and with many colleagues who thought they were the police - they were invariably aggressive and dangerous, and they all hid behind claims of just trying to stop customers doing the wrong thing

Key points here are that he had acted contrary to a reasonable direction (presumably (but not stated) repeatedly), and he responded to the suspected shoplifting violently (grabbing the bag, struggling, and then throwing objects in frustration). It's not just that he tried to stop shoplifiting.
The lengths people will go to to defend the serial comma instead of just writing better sentences 🙄
I'd have a bit more respect for the "we wanted AI to do the boring tasks so we could be free to do art and creativity" people if they didn't respond to people who use AI to do boring stuff while they do art and creativity by scolding them and accusing them of theft.
A follower suggested the Microsoft launcher, and it turns out to be great! It has features that are especially good if you use Microsoft stuff (which I don't on my phone for personal stuff), but that can be switched off. Look and feel is great, and good customisation.

In Melbourne and in regional towns, dozens of buses don't run 7 days a week, including some routes serving major shopping centres.
Thanks for the tip! I checked it out and I like it. I turned off all the Microsoft productivity stuff (that I can see would be really useful for a work phone, but not necessary for me), and am enjoying it.

Nova Launcher finally died on me, so I switched back to the Pixel launcher, and it's improved since I last used it! I like the minimal icon theming too. Though I wish I could get rid of the bloody Google search bar at the bottom.

We have made our way to Penrith Westfield, which is quite nice apart from the people.
