returning to an app you haven't logged on in a while is like returning to a bar you used to be a regular at but now half the staff is new

I've never procrastinated something as much I have procrastinated working on my UX portfolio.

I think there’s a lack of education when it comes to “common folk” aka people not in touch with tech in any regard. I have highly educated friends that work in law, medicine etc that brush it off as a dumb thing. How do we get the broader population educated properly on what it is?

My thought for months now has been that with their Jony Ive partnership, they’re working on a new era of PCs or PC adjacent type products with GPT running them. This news just solidifies that *something* of the sort is happening

prediction: they’re going to sell their models like Microsoft used to sell Windows

I simplified it but that’s the gist of it

I’d Uno reverse and say “Well see this is an example of a dark pattern in your hiring experience. If you hire me as a designer I would make sure we don’t utilize those types of tactics” that oughta teach them

I want AI to help me do my dishes and laundry so I can create art, not for it to create art so I can do my dishes and laundry.

bratty opinion of the day:

As of now, Claude is more likely to catalyze mass adoption of GenAI than ChatGPT.

my DMs and comments are open for hate mail

Still analyzing both so I don’t have final thoughts yet. However, one major downside of Claude in my opinion is that you can only make projects public if you’re on the Work plan. Easily makes me lean more towards GPT Plus.

The amount of multimillion and billion dollar companies with the shittiest websites out there is appalling, but what's worse to me are the websites made by graphic designers that pivoted into website design - the websites win awards for look and feel but the usability is non-existent.

Here’s an example:
To you and I, advanced tech users, we know how these GPT models differ and can select what we need.

Most people don’t.

Claude includes a short description nudging you more towards trial and error exploration, instead of leaving the platform to do additional research. 3/3

ChatGPT on the other hand can feel a little more daunting to a regular Joe or Jane. There’s not a lot of help shortcuts, how to use, tool tips etc. When you open it, you’re kind of just welcomed with a chat screen. You can click around but there’s nothing really telling you what’s what. 2/3

Where do I start, Aaron? I could share a whole UX analysis, but that requires more writing real estate.

I will say, Anthropic is making Claude feel a little more approachable to any user. Their brand voice is more welcoming and there’s more “hand holding” through the experience. 1/3

Thanks for sharing the facts! Even though I still personally wouldn’t support any of these companies and use their offerings, it’s still important to share and not spread misinformation.

The Browser Company launching Dia has made my FOMO skyrocket.

Am I 182020 steps behind?

My one AI platform idea is probably already in its 3rd iteration at an established corporation.

What are other companies working on that we don’t know about yet??!!

The innovation fomo is real

bluesky feels like sitting at your computer at 2am in 2003, way past your bedtime, and stumbling into a random chatroom where there's, at first glance, a lot of weirdos... but then you realize... like... these weirdos are making total sense... oh, I'm the weirdo too

What does differ from ChatGPT is that I personally think this UX is waaaaaay better!

Share the same sentiment earlier today! There's so much opportunity for Spotify to innovate in-house, now it's just a matter of knowing what the users actually want and not create an experience that still favors the agenda of the music industry and what they want us to want.

Their vision for a “Marketplace of Algorithms” was primarily developer focused. Devs can create algos (feeds) for others to follow. Are there plans to make this more accessible to non-devs or non-techies in the future?

bratty opinion of the day:

good on them.

why allow others to build AI powered apps and platforms with the information you gathered on your own users instead of yourselves?

AI supported experiences and personalization is what’s going to move the needle.
