The international fan clubs didn’t endorse Hamas or justify terror. What they asked for was consistency in anti fascist and solidarity values, and an end to selective mourning. And for that, they were treated as enemies.

Where was the solidarity when thousands of Palestinians were being killed, long before October 7th? Where were the statements then and the sudkurve banners ?

And if we agree that there are two bad sides in this conflict, then it becomes even more puzzling why the St. Pauli fan scene has expressed such one-sided solidarity with only one of them.

Unfortunately, what they were met with was a wave of hostility, largely driven by the Anti-Deutsch ideological current.

The international fan clubs actually made significant efforts—through internal discussions, dialogue, and direct communication—to prevent "the ship from sinking," as you put it. Disbanding wasn’t the first reaction. On the contrary, they tried hard to maintain unity and engage constructively.

So the narrative that they disbanded shortly after the hamas attack is deeply misleading. They spoke out against the selective condemnation of violence, and for that, they were unjustly targeted and isolated.

What’s most disappointing is that throughout this smear campaign, there was no visible support for these fan clubs from the official club organs or the local fan scene of FC St. Pauli—despite their long-standing commitment to anti-fascism, solidarity, and human rights.

Even official fan structures in Hamburg -Fan Club Speakers Council (FCSR) - pressured them to withdraw their signatures from the joint statement.

Their statement was immediately met with attacks and accusations—they were labeled as antisemitic or as supporters of terrorism, which was entirely unfair and untrue.

These fan clubs called for the club to reconsider its one-sided stance and to speak out consistently against all forms of violence, regardless of the side.

which, while condemning the deaths of innocent people, only acknowledged the Israeli victims and remained silent on the thousands of Palestinian victims who had suffered under Israeli military actions over many years.

What really happened is that international fan clubs issued a public statement in response to the club’s announcement—
