No Good Art Comes From Greed | Defector The packages arrived square and thin and carefully wrapped on Saturday afternoon. There were three of them, but only one was mine. If I could have rejected my package, sent it back from whence it came...

“this album … isn’t art. the life of a showgirl is made of shein quality rip-offs of other people’s songs that are constructed shoddily and sold in ginormous quantities. art takes time and care. this is profit. it’s content.”

Signal Ohio joins wave of nonprofit newsroom unionization Journalists from Signal Cleveland, Signal Akron, and Signal Statewide are seeking voluntary recognition.

"We are really active in watching how things have shook out at other news organizations, including Houston Landing,“ reporter Amy Morona said.

"We are just trying to make it for the long haul, and we think unionizing is the best way for us to do that together.”

It is very very cool to see this launched. And it feels like the first step towards something much bigger.

A newsroom has a community, not an audience (the relationship is multimodal, not one-dimensional broadcast). The more we experiment with platforms that support this, the better.

The Ohio Lesbian Archive's long-overdue state historical marker has been derailed by the Trump admin’s sweeping war on DEI, which extends beyond diversity, equity & inclusion programs to seemingly include anything that acknowledges the country’s diversity of experience: 19thnews.org/2025/06/ohio...

ohio issue 2:

✅ would renew and increase the spending cap for a program that funds public works projects related to roads, bridges, water systems and waste disposal

✅ will not increase taxes

❌ is unrelated to the cleveland browns stadium project, which is still under consideration by lawmakers
