Didn't jump out at me on the list so I'm not 100% certain that was it, but that is also a good one.

I think.
That was it!
Of all I've seen, and I've seen many, Slafsquach is the best. There was another one that was really good that isn't on Jack's list, but I can't remember what it was!
If making a change, I'd put Texier on the top line. Move Newhook to the bottom six. But once the Habs go home, this isn't as much of an issue. I think Marty will line match games 3 & 4. He wouldn't answer the matchup question from Basu, only saying there's always some cat and mouse in the playoffs.
Yep. This will never get old. He did a great job not letting on.
Great to see Denis being credited for the nickname Slafkosky. I can attest he came up with it and is consistent in his use of it (and urging others to use it!).
Or he paid him a compliment.
I think by April 27 the Habs should be able to let Engstrom go back to the Rocket, and if they want to carry an 8th defenseman, could call up someone less important to the Laval roster.
I didn't watch a lot of prospect talk prior to the rebuild, so I bought into the hype that Wright was the guy (and a C). But when they drafted Slaf, I was okay with it. I didn't really know the prospects. I was sold when he nearly destroyed the exercise bike.
These should be in the New Yorker or some other paper or magazine... Have you ever pitched them to a media outlet as a regular column? Could expand the audience, but also result in a side gig.
One of my favorites.
And apparently are figuring it out quickly.
Oftentimes, these are just guys caught on line changes. One D gets off, another on, and the second guy wanting a change is caught out (often the guy furthest from the bench).
Was just saying the same thing to my buddies. Buffalo is discovering what the playoffs are about.
I was expecting the Bolts to be more physical and go after Hutson. Obviously think that won't work after the last two regular season games. Now they may want to target Slaf. He's a beast, so good luck. And if you take a penalty? 60% PP success. Cooper has his work cut out for him.
This in the unredacted files? As I suspect there's more than that.
You weren't alone!
They definitely duplicate each other, but that's part of why Marty is playing them on the same line. A right and left shot faceoff option, both strong defensively, their starts in the D zone... They have an important, if not flashy, role.
It was a fairly low event game which I thought was good for the Habs playing on the road against a more experienced team. Not many stood out at 5v5. But both the PP and PK units were good.
Definitely due to special teams. They seemed to have a regular shift 5v5.
Absolutely. Good eye.
And it was!
And there's TV timeouts. Fans often want a 30 second time out when a two minute one is coming at the next stoppage. So many are not aware when they are watching commercials, the coach is talking to players at the bench.
Bingo
How many Habs fans did I see criticize Marty for not using his time outs this season... How about that one?
I think because buddy's stick broke he felt like he had to call it. But how did that break a stick!?
Not nearly as much physicality as I expected after their last couple of regular season games, so maybe the Habs should step it up in that department.
The uncalled icings have been the most noticable missed officiating assignments in a game full of weak ass calls (and non-calls).
