It's the time of year where I've been known to shout "Feckin' bindweed!" at anyone who'll listen (and everyone who won't).

An unexpected benefit.
The 3am Girls of the BBC Politics dept have a lot to answer for.
They don't want long term career stability then.
Can see them really starting to panic over their seats in 12 months time as time starts to run down on their government. It'll be far too late by then.
Better to be hung as a sheep than a lamb, or something.
Agreed on the media but they've got to roll the dice surely? Another meek technocrat, and one even more right wing than Starmer, is going to be a sigh into oblivion.
Jarjaz, son.
Gawd bless you for doing this, Duncan.
No Generic Infantrymen there. Arf!
Only the flame-haired warrior queen of the Soft Left can save them but I doubt they'll have the balls.
"Home vetting is killing politics"
That's awful mate, I hope he gets sorted out quickly. My stepdad spent 3 nights on a trolley in a corridor last year before he got moved into a ward. The NHS is on its arse.
"I only stare off into the middle distance and point for cold hard cash, buddy, so ready up!"
I do miss the service station in random press car days.
Does this mean we'll get something similar in the future? An old money car spotting expedition every so often? 😁
"I loath Olly - he is arrogant to colleagues and condescending to ministerial authority - but it isn't fair for him to be sacked just for doing what the prime minister wanted to happen," said one.
If something bad happens to any of us let’s hope our enemies come out batting for us like this civil servant has for Olly Robbins

Remember Stiff Records and the incredible acts it launched in the 1970s and 1980s?
You can read about how the label made Ian Dury and Elvis Costello cool and released the first UK punk record in this book.

Even there's only 4 or 5 songs on it that I think are great, I still think Achtung Baby is a great album. Revisionism might explain away the awfulness of Rattle & Hum as them getting the Americana finally out of their system, just so they could start again and make this.
Sadly, this was generations before Rave On John Dunne era Van Morrison rolled into town. He'd have disappeared up his own fundament.
I think this was the first YouTube video I actually sat up and noticed.
A guy takes out his, ropey by today's standards, camera and records the sunrise ... backed by The The's Good Morning Beautiful.
It's perfect.

The National Theatre has joined my Brutalist Collection.

Amazing.
I got a CD player for managing not to fail any GCSEs (one A!) and it was full steam ahead from there.
I'll let the kids have their trendy 'warm' sounds and I'll stick with the traditional cold and clinical CDs.
Try it, it works! Am now watching it listening to actual good music and it still fits.
I got told off more than once as a kid by record shop staff for what I was buying. 🤣
Watched that with the sound off listening to some unremarkable indie that my streaming service served me. I'm guessing it (and any music) fits as well as opera. 😋
Having seen them get changed before a show ..... surprisingly camp. 🤣
Luke here isn't happy at your attempt at humour.
Kristin's greatest song, I think.
💯
I think the vocational aspect of the job is why governments repeatedly take advantage of them and don't pay them enough. I know my sister vacillated for a long time about moving to the private sector but she'd just got married and bought a house so needed the financial security.
NEW IN! LOOK AT THE LOVELY THING!
