Accusations frozen in time: How Beall’s List still hurts publishers in 2026 A little-examined consequence of the predatory publishing phenomenon is the damage done to legitimate publishers that got swept up in it – not because they were truly predatory, but because they were listed alongside journals that were. Beall’s List, the well-intentioned and perhaps the most famous predatory publisher and journal list, has long been shuttered. Despite that, the digital record persists.

What happens when a “predatory” label never updates?

Even years after Beall’s List went offline, mirror sites continue to shape decisions, freezing some publishers in time with no path to redemption.

It’s time for smarter, living vetting systems.

Letters from America: AI The news from business school leaders meeting in Seattle this week was simple: AACSB + ICAM = AI. To translate, it was the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) annual get-together, known as the International Conference and Meetings (ICAM), and the focus was very much on Artificial Intelligence. And by focus, while the 1,200+ deans and senior faculty who met there are very much locked in on the topic, they are by equal measure excited and scared witless about what might happen in the five years or so.

AI dominated the conversation at #AACSB’s ICAM this week, bringing both excitement and real uncertainty for business schools.

From shifting workforce models to questions about the future of the #MBA, leaders are grappling with what comes next.

I'm currently attending the annual @aacsb.bsky.social business school conference #ICAM26 and there's been a panel session on this. One school is creating a wholly AI course, including delivery, and the 'Alpha School' is entirely run by AI - and yet AI is simultaneously cited as the biggest concern 🤷‍♂️
