Blacksky Algorithms' Policy Towards Agentic Coding We want to be specific when we talk about how Blacksky uses AI.

As promised, we’ve created a policy document outlining our thoughts on AI and agentic coding (AI for software development). We’re releasing a vote later this week for Blacksky community members to offer their feedback. We look forward to hearing from you all.

To address the questions and concerns around the role of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code in our software development toolchain, we are putting together a formal AI policy document that we will share with the community early next week to vote on via this page.

If you have been having issues receiving 2FA codes within the last 24 hours, we have looked into it and identified the cause. Google is currently rate-limiting emails sent from our domain, which can cause a delay or non-delivery of codes. We will post an update when this is fully resolved!

We were notified that some recently migrated users' posts weren't showing in the Blacksky feed. Our relay (atproto.africa) had an outdated directory that didn't know these users had moved to a new home server, so their posts were silently dropped. This has been fixed and posts are flowing again.

This will hopefully be less prominent over time as we continue to index the billions of records on the network.

To improve transparency and hopefully reduce confusion we have added a "Backfill in progress" badge to account profiles.

The badge shows if there's a big enough difference between someones follow/post counts according to Blacksky vs. the rest of the ATmosphere (Bluesky, Microcosm, etc.)

There may be pages that do not have blobs (profile images) and full followers counts shown due to backfilling. Backfilling is the process of syncing all data in the network from scratch. ~50% of accounts are synced. This process will take time, but you will still be able to use your account as usual
